7. The apertures beneath the

vehicle floor must be kept

free of dirt and snow slush.

The apertures must not be lo-

cated within the area subject

to spray from the wheels or

mudguards. Splash protec-

tion must be provided if nec-

essary.

8. If the floor of the vehicle is

provided with underfloor pro-

tection, all the apertures be-

neath the vehicle must be cov-

ered in order to prevent the

spray created from penetrating

the device and causing mal-

functions. Once the work has

been completed the covers can

be removed again.

9. In order to avoid damage to

the compressor, when the de-

vice is in operation during tran-

sit (for example, with the gen-

erator or voltage transformer

working), do not attempt uphill

or downhill gradients of more

than 8%.

10. Do not allow cooling op-

eration to run for extended

periods in a tilted position,

since the condensation water

which forms may not be able

to run off, and in the worst

scenario might penetrate into

the vehicle.

Maintenance

Located on the front face of

the device is a flow filter for

the suction intake of the sur-

rounding air (Page C, Fig. B,

Pos. 24). This must be

cleaned at regular intervals,

at least twice a year, and

replaced if necessary.

The appliance must

never be operated

without the flow filter. With-

out a filter the evaporator may

become contaminated with

dirt, which in turn will impair

the performance of the system.

The condensation water drain

is located beneath the floor of

the vehicle (Page C, Fig. B,

Pos. 11). In order for the con-

densation water to drain away

freely, a regular check should

be made to ensure that the

drain hose is free of dirt, veg-

etation residue, or similar ob-

structions. If this is not done,

there is a risk of condensa-

tion water penetrating into

the vehicle!

In the event of a fault, you

should in principle contact

Truma Service (see page 44).

Before calling Customer

Service, please check the

following:

1. Is the 230 V mobile home

supply properly connected,

and are the fuses and protec-

tive switch in good order?

2. Is the temperature which

has been set on the remote

control less than the interior

temperature?

3. Are the fluff filter on the

unit (Page C, Fig. B, Pos. 24)

and the air intake to the

stowage box (Pos. 1) in

which the device is installed

free?

4. Is the aperture for the sup-

ply air in the floor of the vehi-

cle or the side wall free of

dirt, foliage, or other obstruc-

tions?

Changing the battery

in the remote control

Please be sure to use leak-

proof micro-batteries only,

type LR 3, AM4, AAA,

MN 2400 (1.5 V).

The battery compartment is

located on the rear of the

remote control unit.

When fitting new batteries,

ensure the polarity (positive/

negative) is correct!

Dead and used batter-

ies may leak and dam-

age the remote control unit!

Remove the batteries if the

remote control is not going to

be used for an extended peri-

od.

No claims under guaran-

tee will be considered for

damage caused by leaking

batteries.

Before throwing away a de-

fective remote control, it is

essential that the batteries be

removed and disposed of in

the proper manner.

Accessories

If desired, Truma can supply

a particle filter for purification

of the interior air.

Subsequent fitting set,

particle filter, complete with

mounting frame

(Art. no. 40040-23600).

Replacement particle filter

(Art. no. 40040-23100).

If a securing bracket (1)

is fitted in front of the

air-conditioning unit, the air-

conditioning unit will have to

be partially dismantled in or-

der to instal the subsequent

fitting set, and the bracket re-

located by about 6 mm.

Changing the filter

Remove the old, dirty filter by

lifting it out upwards. Intro-

duce the new filter into the

guide rails from above, and

push it down firmly.

Noise suppressor for installa-

tion in the cold air pipe for

additional noise reduction

within the living compart-

ment (Art. no. 40040-60100).

Blow-out channel for addi-

tional noise reduction outside

the living compartment.

Installed beneath the vehicle

(Art. no. 40040-32500).

Notes for the use

of air-conditioners

- The Truma Frostair 1700 is

designed for minimal current

consumption. Nevertheless,

you should check before tak-

ing the system into operation

whether the camping site has

adequate fuses (minimum 3 A).

- As far as possible, park

your vehicle in the shade.

- Darkening the interior with

window blinds and/or a roof

awning will reduce the pene-

tration of radiant heat.

- Clean the roof of the vehi-

cle regularly (dirty roofs heat

up more readily).

- Before operating the de-

vice, ventilate your vehicle

thoroughly, in order to allow

the hot air which builds up in-

side to escape.

- Take care when putting up

awnings or similar that there

are sufficient openings for

the supply air to be dis-

charged. The opening for the

hot discharge air should not

be on the intake side.

- To create a healthy environ-

ment on the inside of the ve-

hicle, the difference between

the inside and outside tem-

peratures should not be se-

lected as too great. During

operation the circulated air

will be purified and dried.

Due to the drying of the

moist, humid air, a pleasant

environment will be created

inside even with slight tem-

perature differences.

- Keep the doors and win-

dows closed while the cool-

ing system is in operation.
