d = Red LED “Failure”
Never operate the water heater without water in it!
Remove wall cowl cover or open deck cowl: Press down cowl
cover (fig. D: 28) and turn to the left up to the stop.
Open gas cylinder and open quick-acting valve in the gas sup-
ply line.
Open draining valve, drain any splash water which has accu-
mulated and close valve again.
To ensure there are no leaks in the combus tion cham-
ber always keep the draining valve closed during opera-
tion – valve position g!
Switch on the boiler using the rotary switch (a) on the op-
erating part, the green LED lights up. Set the desired water
temperature at the rotary knob (c) (steplessly adjustable from
about 30 °C to 70 °C).
When using the vehicle switches: refer to operating instruc-
tions of the vehicle manufacturer.
If there is air in the gas supply line, it may take up to a minute
before the gas is available for combustion. If the appliance
switches to “Failure” during this period, switch off the appli-
ance – wait 5 minutes – and switch on again!
If the sea is rough and there is a risk of water entering
the cowl, switch off the water heater and mount the
wall cowl cover or close the deck cowl.
Switching off
Switch the boiler off at the rotary switch (b).
Always drain water contents if there is a risk of frost!
If the boiler is not going to be used for a while, always attach
the wall cowl cover and / or close the deck cowl: Push the ex-
haust duct covering (fig. D: 28) down and rotate to the right
until it reaches the limit stop and can go no further. (If this is
not done, water, dirt or insects may get into the boi ler and
cause malfunctions). Close the quick-action stop valve in the
gas supply line and gas bottle.
Red LED “Failure”
In the event of a failure, the red LED (d) lights up. The reason
for such an indication is, for example, no gas available or air in
the gas supply system, triggering of the excess temperature
monitor etc. To unlock, switch off the appliance, wait 5 min-
utes, and switch on again.
Switching on Electric operation
(BM 10 EL, BM 14 EL only)
Switch the boiler on at the control panel (k). The indicator
lamp indicates that the device is in operation.

j = Rocker switch, “Off”
k = Rocker switch, “On (Electrical operation)”
When using the vehicle switches: refer to operating instruc-
tions of the vehicle manufacturer.
The water temperature cannot be selected, automatic
temperature limitation at approx. 70 °C! For a faster
heating up period the appliance can be simultaneously oper-
ated with gas and electrical power.
The electrical heating rod is fitted with an excess temper-
ature cut-out. In the event of a fault, switch off at the op-
erating element, wait 10 minutes, then switch on again.
Maintenance
Always use original Truma parts for maintenance and
repair work.
We recommend the Truma system care set for cleaning,
disinfecting and looking after the boiler. Other products – in
particular products containing chlorine – are unsuitable.
To avoid infestation by micro-organisms, the boiler must be
heated to 70 °C at regular intervals.
Fuses
The fuse for the device is located on the electronic control unit.
1,6 A
The fine-wire fuse must only be replaced by a fuse of the
same design. 1.6 A (slow-acting), EN 60127-2-3.
If there is a defect in the electronics (fig. J: 56), return the
control p.c.b. well pad ded. If you fail to pack it cor rectly the
guarantee shall no longer be valid.
Only use original control p.c.b.'s as spare parts for Truma
water-heater!
Disposal
The device must be disposed of in line with the administra-
tive regulations of the respective land in which it is used.
National regulations and laws (in Germany, for example,
the Altfahrzeug-Verordnung [old vehicle directive]) must be
observed.
