Troubleshooting
Problem Possible cause Solution
Red LED does not illuminate and Battery (5) not charging Battery not fully seated Refit Battery correctly
Battery Charger (11) not powered Recheck mains connection
Battery has low capacity Battery not being fully charged Wait until green LED is illuminated
Battery has been charged over 200 times and capacity has
started to reduce
This is normal for batteries. Contact your Triton dealer to
purchase a replacement battery
Tool cannot be switched on Battery discharged Recharge battery or replace with a charged battery
Defective battery Replace battery
Tool defective Contact your Triton dealer or authorised service centre
Tool stops operating during use Battery has low charge Charge battery fully before use especially before jobs that
are more difficult to cut
Over temperature safety feature has operated Tool may require up to 30 minutes for tool to reset. A slower
speed setting may be required to prevent this safety feature
operating. Check Motor Vents (2) are not blocked. Reduce
the amount of hand pressure on the tool to reduce load
on the motor
Over current safety feature has operated Tool may require up to 1 minute to reset. A slower speed
setting may be required. Check Motor Vents are not blocked.
Reduce the amount of hand pressure on the tool to reduce
load on the motor
Blade not cutting correctly Speed setting low Increase speed
Material may not be suitable for blade Change blade
Material not suitable for tool Some materials including hardened metals have no
compatible blade
Blade may be worn Replace blade
allow dust, wood chippings and swarf to build up. Use a vacuum cleaner to keep the work
space clean, especially in confined areas.
WARNING: DO NOT inhale dust. Wear adequate breathing protection. Some dusts may be
toxic especially from man-made composite materials.
Sawing
Ensure the saw blade is sharp and in good condition
Do not use saw blades that are damaged or deformed in any way
When sawing light building materials, follow the recommendations of the material suppliers
Apply plunge cuts to soft materials ONLY, for example, wood, gypsum plasterboard etc.
(image F)
If using saw blades not designed for cutting metal, ensure there are no nails or screws
embedded in the workpiece. If necessary, remove embedded objects or use metal cutting
saw blades instead
Sanding
The removal rate and the sanding pattern are determined by the type of sanding sheet, the
preset oscillation rate and the applied pressure
Pay particular attention to applying uniform sanding pressure; this increases the working
life of the sanding sheets
Intensifying the sanding pressure will not lead to an increase of the sanding capacity, but to
increased wear of the machine and the sanding sheet
For precise on-the-spot sanding of edges, corners and hard to reach areas, it is also
possible to work only with the tip or an edge of the sanding plate (Fig. G)
A sanding sheet that has been used for sanding metal should not be used for sanding
other materials
Regularly brush down or vacuum the surface being sanded to ensure the sanding sheet is
in direct contact with the surface
Scraping
For scraping, select a high speed setting
On soft surfaces (e.g. wood), work at a flat angle and apply only light pressure so that the
scraper does not cut into the surface

Maintenance
WARNING: Always disconnect the battery from the tool before attaching or removing
accessories, making any adjustments or performing maintenance.
This tool is manufactured using class-leading components and uses intelligent circuitry that
protects the tool and its components. In normal use it should provide a long working life
Cleaning
Keep your machine clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly,
and shorten the machine’s service life. Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush or
dry cloth. If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes
Storage
Store this tool and its accessories after use in its case, in a dry, secure place out of the
reach of children
Disposal
Always adhere to national regulations when disposing of power tools that are no longer
functional and are not viable for repair.
Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE),
with household waste
Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the correct way to dispose of
power tools
