Basic Assembly
Reectors
1. Place the bicycle on the floor, standing upright.
2. Orient the front reflector and the rear reflector so that they are vertical and face
directly forward or rearward.
3. Tighten the attachment hardware.
Accessories
Depending on the model you are assembling, there may not be any accessories, or
there may be quite a few. These instructions apply generally to all models.
Some frames have their own custom attachment hardware, such as a Domane
frame. To attach accessories to a frame without eyelets, use dropout adapters
(Figure 59).
Tools required
• 5mm allen wrench
• 10mm end wrench
To prepare mounting hardware
1. Lubricate the threads of all bolts with a light bearing grease. Look for the bolts
attaching the ACSD, CCD, water bottles, fenders, or rack.
2. Check that the rear suspension hardware is tight. This includes pivot bolts,
shock mounts, and/or linkage bolts. Proper bolt preparation should be followed
according to the manufacturer’s owner’s manual.
3. Check that the fork hardware is tight. This includes steerer clamp bolts and/or
stanchion clamp bolts. Proper bolt preparation should be followed according to
the manufacturer’s owner’s manual.
To install the accessories
If the bike comes with a rack or kickstand, install them now.
1. Lubricate the threads of fasteners.
2. Install pads on kids bikes.
3. Install any other accessories.
4. Check that any accessories do not interfere with other systems of the bike. For
example, make sure computer wires are not pulled by rotation of the handlebar.
