4-3. Onderhoud en controles zelf uitvoeren

Gedestilleerd water bijvullen.
Als het bovenste streepje niet zichtbaar is, controleer dan het vloeistofni-
veau van bovenaf door recht in de vulopening te kijken.
Draai de vuldop na het bijvullen weer goed vast.
■ Voorzorgsmaatregelen voor het opladen van de accu
Tijdens het opladen van de accu ontstaat een licht ontvlambare en explosieve
waterstof. Let daarom voorafgaand aan het opladen op het volgende:
● Als de accu in de auto is gemonteerd, moet voorafgaand aan het opladen de
massakabel worden losgenomen.
● Controleer of de acculader tijdens het aansluiten en losnemen van de accu-
klemmen is uitgeschakeld.
■ Na het opladen/aansluiten van de accu (auto's met Smart entry-systeem en
startknop)
● Nadat de accu losgenomen is geweest, is het wellicht niet meteen mogelijk
om de portieren met het Smart entry-systeem met startknop te ontgrendelen.
Gebruik in dat geval de afstandsbediening of de mechanische sleutel om de
portieren te vergrendelen of ontgrendelen.
● Start de motor met het contact in stand ACC. De auto start mogelijk niet als
het contact UIT staat. De motor werkt vanaf de tweede poging echter nor-
maal.
● De stand van de startknop wordt door de auto opgeslagen. Als de accu weer
wordt aangesloten, keert de startknop terug naar de stand die was geselec-
teerd voordat de accu werd losgenomen. Zet de motor af voordat u de accu
losneemt. Wees extra voorzichtig als niet bekend is wat de stand van de
startknop was voordat de accu leeg raakte.
Neem, als de motor na meerdere pogingen nog niet start, contact op met een
Toyota-dealer of erkende reparateur.
