ADVICE
If necessary, adjust the compensator block to the boat hull.
1. Drill four holes in the boat’s hull for installing the pod, see "Fig. 37:
Dimensions". If necessary, use the adjusted compensator block as a drilling
template.
The three small drill holes should have a diameter of approx. 11 mm. The
large drill hole should have a diameter of approx. 60 to 65 mm.
The three O-rings between the mounting flange and the compensator block
must be undamaged and well greased (e.g. with Klüber Unisilikon TK M
1012).
2. Push the compensator block (4) onto the mounting flange (5).
ADVICE
Ensure that the machined side of the compensator block faces upwards.
ADVICE
If the boat hull is too heavily sloped/curved for a single compensator block
to be sufficient, then we recommend the addition of a second compensator
block.
3. Guide the cables, the pipe (3), and the M10 threaded rods through the holes
drilled in the boat’s hull.
4. Seal the drilled holes in the hull using water-resistant sealant (e.g. Sikaflex® 291i
or equivalent). In order to ensure the best possible seal, the surface between the
compensator block (4) and the mounting flange (5), and between compensator
block (4) and the hull can also be sealed. Before sealing, all components must be
thoroughly degreased.
