1 Before initial use
1.1 Intended Purpose
The Diet Scale is a powerful and easy-to-use electronic scale with a modern design.
Based on the measured weight, you can easily know the salt, protein, fat, carbohydrate or cholesterol of
the food. The value of each food can be accumulated to get a total nutritional value of each meal.
1.2 Safety advice
• Always read the safety instructions carefully.
• Follow the basic safety precautions for all electronic equipment when using this Scale.
• Keep this User's Manual for future reference.
• This unit is not waterproof. Don't expose this product to rain or moisture.
• Lay this equipment on a reliable flat surface before setting it up.
• Do not place the basic unit in a damp room at a distance of less than 1.5 m away from a water
source. Keep water away from the scale.
• Don't disassemble this scale. The scale doesn't contain any parts that can be repaired by the user.
• Use the scale only for its intended purpose.

Put a battery in the battery compartment to activate the display:
• Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the unit.
• When the batteries are pre-installed. Pull out the insulator.
• If it is not pre-installed, insert a CR2032 - 3 V - Lithium battery with the positive
pole (+) facing upwards.
• Close the battery compartment.

4 Simple operation
• Press the On - button (3) on the right side of the scale. The LCD display will show all segments for
3 seconds before entering weight mode.
• Once the weight mode icon (j) is displayed, place the product on the scale platform (maximum
5K
g
). The weight is displayed.
• Press the
Off - button (7) to turn the scale Off or it will turn off automatically in idle mode after 60
seconds.
5 Advanced operation
5.1 Weighing unit
• Press the ‘Weight unit button’- button (6) to switch the weight unit between gram (g), ounce (oz) ,
pound (lb/oz) and milliliter (ml).
5.2 Get nutritional information
• Press the On - button (3). The LCD display will show all segments for 3 seconds before entering
weight mode.
• Once the weight mode icon (
j) is displayed, place the product on the scale platform (maximum
5K
g). The weight is displayed.
• Search for the
3 - digit food code from the food code list.
• Enter the food code using the numeric key pad (9). Press the clear button ‘CLR/MC’ (1) when you
have entered the wrong code.
• The next nutritional information is displayed:

This product has a soft touch keypad. Do not press the buttons to hard. It would

he desired button softly with the tip of your finger.
If you use a bowl to weigh product, it should be placed on the scale platform before
switching on. If you forgot to do so, press the zero button (1) to eliminate the weight
of the bowl.
! If you remove the bowl, the scale will display a negative reading.

5.3 Total nutrition value
If you wish to know the total nutrition value per meal or per day, you can save the values for all foods
weighted.
• Enter the food code of the first ingredient.
• Put the first ingredient on the scale. The weight is displayed.
• Press the store button (M+) - button (5) to save it in the memory. ‘M01’ will be displayed (k).
• Press the clear button ‘C/MC’ (1) to clear the first food code.
• Enter the second food code.
• Weight the second food and press the store button (M+) - button (5) to save. ‘M02’ will be
displayed.
• Repeat previous steps to accumulate all values (Maximum 99 records can be stored).
• When all ingredients have been weighted, press the memory button ‘MR’ (4). The total nutrition
values are displayed.
• Press one of the next function keys to see the total nutrition values of your meal.
To erase the total value when the total nutrition value is displayed:
• Press memory button ‘MR’ (4) to leave the total nutrition value display.
• Press the clear button ‘C/MC’ (1) once. The memory icon (m) will flash.
• Press the clear button ‘C/MC’ (1) again to confirm. All records are erased.
6 Error codes

9 Disposal of the device (environment)
At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not throw this product into the normal
household garbage but bring the product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical
and electronic equipments. The symbol on the product, user guide and/or box indicate
this.
Some of the product materials can be re-used if you bring them to a recycling point. By
re-using some parts or raw materials from used products you make an important
contribution to the protection of the environment. Please contact your local authorities in case you need
more information on the collection points in your area.
Batteries must be removed before disposing of the device.
Dispose of the batteries in an environmental manner according to your country regulations.
10 Topcom warranty
10.1 Warranty period
The Topcom units have a 24-month warranty period. The warranty period starts on the day the new unit
is purchased.
Consumables or defects causing a negligible effect on operation or value of the equipment are not
covered.
The warranty has to be proven by presentation of the original purchase receipt, on which the date of
purchase and the unit-model are indicated.
10.2 Warranty handling
A faulty unit needs to be returned to a Topcom service centre including a valid purchase note.
If the unit develops a fault during the warranty period, Topcom or its officially appointed service centre
will repair any defects caused by material or manufacturing faults free of charge.
Topcom will at its discretion fulfill its warranty obligations by either repairing or exchanging the faulty
units or parts of the faulty units. In case of replacement, colour and model can be different from the
original purchased unit.
The initial purchase date shall determine the start of the warranty period. The warranty period is not
extended if the unit is exchanged or repaired by Topcom or its appointed service centres.
10.3 Warranty exclusions
Damage or defects caused by incorrect treatment or operation and damage resulting from use of non-
original parts or accessories not recommended by Topcom are not covered by the warranty.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by outside factors, such as lightning, water and fire, nor
any damage caused during transportation.
No warranty can be claimed if the serial number on the units has been changed, removed or rendered
illegible.
This product is in compliance with the essential requirements and other
relevant provisions of the directive 89/336/EEC.

1 Voor het eerste gebruik
1.1 Beoogd gebruik
De Diet Scale is een functionele en gebruiksvriendelijke elektronische weegschaal met een moderne
vormgeving.
Op basis van het gemeten gewicht kunt u gemakkelijk het gehalte aan zout, eiwitten, vetten,
koolhydraten of cholesterol van het voedsel bepalen. De waarden van de verschillende typen voedsel
kunnen worden opgeteld om een totale voedingswaarde te bepalen voor elke maaltijd.
1.2 Veiligheidsadvies
• Lees de veiligheidsinstructies altijd aandachtig door.
• Houd u bij het gebruik van deze weegschaal aan de elementaire voorzorgsmaatregelen die gelden
voor alle elektronische apparaten.
• Bewaar de handleiding voor later gebruik.
• Dit apparaat is niet waterbestendig. Stel het product niet bloot aan regen of vocht.
• Plaats dit toestel op een stevige, vlakke ondergrond voor u het instelt.
• Plaats het toestel niet in een vochtige ruimte op een afstand van minder dan 1,5 meter van een
waterbron. Houd water uit de buurt van de weegschaal.
• Demonteer deze weegschaal niet. De weegschaal bevat geen onderdelen die door de gebruiker
kunnen worden gerepareerd.
• Zet de weegschaal alleen in voor het beoogde gebruik.

Plaats een batterij in het batterijvak om de display te activeren:
• Open het batterijvak aan de onderkant van het toestel.
• Als de batterij al geplaatst is. Verwijder de isolatiestrip.
• Als de batterij nog niet in het batterijvak zit, plaatst u een CR2032 - 3 V - lithium-
batterij met de positieve pool (+) naar boven.
• Sluit het batterijvak.

4 Eenvoudige bediening
• Druk op de aan-toets (3) aan de rechterkant van de weegschaal. Op de LCD-display worden 3
seconden alle segmenten weergegeven; vervolgens gaat het naar de weegmodus.
• Plaats het product (maximaal 5 kg) op de weegschaal wanneer het pictogram van de weegmodus
(j) verschijnt. Het gewicht wordt weergegeven.
• Druk op de uit-toets (7) om de weegschaal uit te schakelen. Als u dit niet doet, gaat de weegschaal
na 60 seconden automatisch naar stand-by.
5 Geavanceerde bediening
5.1 Gewichtseenheid
• Druk op de toets voor de gewichtseenheid ‘g/oz’ (6) om te wisselen tussen gram (g), ounce (oz),
pound (lb/oz) en milliliter (ml).
5.2 Voedingswaarde aflezen
• Druk op de aan-toets (3). Op de LCD-display worden 3 seconden alle segmenten weergegeven;
vervolgens gaat het naar de weegmodus.
• Plaats het product (maximaal 5 kg) op de weegschaal wanneer het pictogram van de weegmodus
(j) verschijnt. Het gewicht wordt weergegeven.
• Zoek de voedselcode van drie cijfers op in de voedselcodelijst.
• Voer de voedselcode in via het numerieke toetsenblok (9). Druk op de wistoets "CLR/MC" (1) als
u de verkeerde code hebt ingevoerd.
• De volgende informatie over de voedingswaarde verschijnt:

Sluit de batterijen niet kort en gooi ze nooit in het vuur. Verwijder de batterijen
wanneer u het toestel langere tijd niet
gebruikt.
Dit product heeft een soft touch-toetsenbord. Druk niet te hard op de toetsen. Dit kan
de meting beïnvloeden. Druk de gewenste toets zacht in met uw vingertop.
Als u een kom gebruikt voor het wegen van het product, dient u die op de
weegschaal te plaatsen voordat u hem inschakelt. Als u dit vergeten bent, kunt u op
de nultoets drukken (2)om te corrigeren voor het gewicht van de kom.
! Als u de kom vervolgens verwijdert, zal de weegschaal een negatieve waarde
aangeven.

5.3 Totale voedingswaarde
Als u de totale voedingswaarde van een maaltijd of van een hele dag wilt weten, kunt u de waarden voor
alle gewogen voedselproducten opslaan.
• Voer de voedselcode van het eerste ingrediënt in.
• Plaats het eerste ingrediënt op de weegschaal. Het gewicht wordt weergegeven.
• Druk op de opslaan-toets "M+" (5) om het in het geheugen op te slaan. Op de display wordt "M01"
weergegeven (k).
• Druk op de wistoets "CLR/MC" (1) om de eerste voedselcode te wissen.
• Voer de tweede voedselcode in.
• Weeg het tweede voedselproduct en druk op de opslaan-toets "M+" (5) om het gewicht op te
slaan. Op de display wordt "M02" weergegeven.
• Herhaal de voorgaande stappen tot u alle waarden hebt verkregen (u kunt maximaal 99
meetwaarden opslaan).
• Nadat u alle ingrediënten hebt gewogen, drukt u op de geheugentoets "MR" (4). De totale
voedingswaarde verschijnt op het scherm.
• Druk op een van de volgende functietoetsen om de totale voedingswaarden van uw maaltijd weer
te geven.
De totale waarde wissen terwijl de totale voedingswaarde op het scherm staat:
• Druk op de geheugentoets "MR" (4) om het scherm met de totale voedingswaarde te verlaten.
• Druk eenmaal op de wistoets "CLR/MC" (1). Het geheugenpictogram (m) begint te knipperen.
• Druk nogmaals op de wistoets "CLR/MC" (1) om te bevestigen. Alle records worden gewist.
6 Foutcodes

weer aan.

9 Afvoeren van het toestel (milieu)
Na afloop van de levenscyclus van het product mag u het niet met het normale
huishoudelijke afval weggooien, maar moet u het naar een inzamelpunt brengen voor
recycling van elektrische en elektronische apparatuur. Dit wordt aangeduid door het
symbool op het product, in de handleiding en/of op de verpakking.
Sommige materialen waaruit het product is vervaardigd kunnen worden hergebruikt als u
ze naar een inzamelpunt brengt. Door onderdelen of grondstoffen van gebruikte producten te
hergebruiken, levert u een belangrijke bijdrage aan de bescherming van het milieu. Wend u tot de
plaatselijke overheid voor meer informatie over de inzamelpunten bij u in de buurt.
Verwijder de batterijen voordat u het toestel naar een inzamelpunt brengt.
Voer de batterijen op een milieuvriendelijke manier af volgens de regels die gelden in uw land.
10 Topcom-garantie
10.1 Garantietermijn
De Topcom-toestellen hebben een garantietermijn van 24 maanden. De garantietermijn gaat in op de
dag waarop het nieuwe toestel wordt aangeschaft.
Verbruiksartikelen en defecten die een verwaarloosbaar effect hebben op de werking of waarde van het
toestel worden niet gedekt door de garantie.
De garantie moet worden bewezen door het kunnen voorleggen van de originele aankoopbon waarop
de aankoopdatum en het toestelmodel staan aangegeven.
10.2 Afwikkeling van garantieclaims
Een defect toestel moet worden geretourneerd aan het onderhoudscentrum van Topcom, samen met
een geldige aankoopbon.
Als het toestel defect raakt tijdens de garantietermijn, zal Topcom of een van haar officieel aangewezen
servicecentra defecten ingevolge materiaal- of fabricagefouten kosteloos repareren.
Topcom zal naar eigen inzicht voldoen aan haar garantieverplichtingen door defecte toestellen, of
onderdelen ervan, te repareren dan wel te vervangen. In het geval van vervanging kunnen de kleur en
het model verschillend zijn van het oorspronkelijk aangeschafte toestel.
De oorspronkelijke aankoopdatum bepaalt wanneer de garantietermijn ingaat. De garantietermijn wordt
niet verlengd als het toestel wordt vervangen of gerepareerd door Topcom of een van haar aangewezen
servicecentra.
10.3 Garantiebeperkingen
Schade of defecten als gevolg van een onjuiste behandeling of onjuist gebruik en schade als gevolg van
het gebruik van niet-originele onderdelen of accessoires die niet worden aanbevolen door Topcom,
vallen buiten de garantie.
De garantie dekt geen schade te wijten aan externe factoren, zoals bliksem, water en brand, noch enige
tijdens transport veroorzaakte schade.
Er kan geen aanspraak worden gemaakt op garantie als het serienummer op de toestellen is veranderd,
verwijderd of onleesbaar gemaakt.
Dit product voldoet aan de basiseisen en andere relevante bepalingen
van de richtlijn 89/336/EEC.

1.1 Utilisation
La balance Diet Scale est un instrument électronique puissant et facile d'emploi, au design moderne.
Sur la base du poids mesuré, vous pouvez obtenir aisément des informations sur la teneur en sel,
protéines, matières grasses, glucides ou cholestérol de vos aliments. La valeur de chaque aliment peut
être cumulée pour donner la valeur nutritionnelle totale de chaque repas.
1.2 Conseils de sécurité
• Lisez toujours attentivement les instructions de sécurité.
• Respectez les précautions élémentaires applicables à tous les équipements électroniques lorsque
vous utilisez cette balance.
• Conservez ce mode d'emploi afin de pouvoir le consulter ultérieurement.
• Cet appareil n'est pas étanche. Évitez de l'exposer à la pluie ou à l'humidité.
• Posez l'appareil sur une surface plane sûre avant de le paramétrer.
• N'installez pas l'appareil de base dans une pièce humide ou à moins de 1,5 m d'un point d'eau.
Veillez à ce que la balance ne soit pas mouillée.
• Ne démontez pas cette balance. Elle ne contient aucune pièce réparable par l'utilisateur.
• Utilisez la balance exclusivement pour son usage prévu.

Insérez une pile dans le compartiment des piles afin d'activer l'écran :
• Ouvrez le compartiment des piles sur le dessous de l'appareil.
• Lorsque les piles sont pré-installées. Retirez l'isolateur.
• Si elle n'est pas pré-installée, insérez 1 pile CR2032 - 3V - au lithium avec le pôle
positif (+) vers le haut.
• Refermez le compartiment des piles.

4 Fonctionnement simple
• Appuyez sur la touche Marche (3) située à droite sur la balance. L'écran LCD affiche tous les
segments pendant 3 secondes avant de passer en mode poids.
• Lorsque l'icône du mode Poids (j) s'affiche, placez le produit sur le plateau de la balance
(maximum 5 kg). Le poids s'affiche.
• Appuyez sur la touche Arrêt (7) pour arrêter la balance ; à défaut, elle se mettra automatiquement
en mode veille au bout de 60 secondes.
5 Fonctionnement avancé

• Appuyez sur la touche d'unité de poids ‘g/oz’ (6) pour sélectionner l'unité de poids entre gramme
(g), once (oz) , livre (lb/oz) et millilitre (ml).
5.2 Pour obtenir des informations nutritionnelles
• Appuyez sur la touche Marche (3). L'écran LCD affiche tous les segments pendant 3 secondes
avant de passer en mode poids.
• Lorsque l'icône du mode Poids (j) s'affiche, placez le produit sur le plateau de la balance
(maximum 5 kg). Le poids s'affiche.
• Cherchez le code à 3 chiffres dans la liste des codes aliments.
• Tapez le code aliment en utilisant le clavier numérique (9). Appuyez sur la touche Effacer ‘CLR/
MC’ (1) si le code que vous avez saisi n'est pas le bon.
• Les informations nutritionnelles suivantes s'affichent :

5.3 Valeur nutritionnelle totale
Si vous voulez connaître la valeur nutritionnelle totale par repas ou par jour, vous pouvez mémoriser les
valeurs de tous les aliments pesés.
• Tapez le code aliment du premier ingrédient.
• Placez le premier ingrédient sur la balance. Le poids s'affiche.
• Appuyez sur la touche Enregistrement 'M+' (5) pour l'enregistrer dans la mémoire. ‘M01’
s'affiche (k).
• Appuyez sur la touche Effacer ‘CLR/MC’ (1) pour effacer le premier code aliment.
• Tapez le deuxième code aliment.
• Pesez le deuxième aliment et appuyez sur la touche Enregistrement 'M+' (5) pour mémoriser la
pesée. 'M02' s'affiche.
• Répétez les étapes précédentes pour cumuler l'ensemble des valeurs (vous pouvez mémoriser au
maximum 99 pesées).
• Lorsque tous les ingrédients ont été pesés, appuyez sur la touche Mémoire 'MR' (4). Les valeurs
nutritionnelles totales s'affichent.
• Appuyez sur l'une des touches de fonction suivantes pour afficher les valeurs nutritionnelles totales
de votre repas :
Pour effacer la valeur totale lorsque la valeur nutritionnelle totale s'affiche :
• Appuyez sur la touche Mémoire ‘MR’ (4) pour garder affichée la valeur nutritionnelle totale.
• Appuyez une fois sur la touche Effacer ‘CLR/MC’ (1). L'icône Mémoire (m) clignote.
• Appuyez à nouveau sur la touche Effacer ‘CLR/MC’ (1) pour confirmer. Tous les enregistrements
sont effacés.
