MAKING COFFEE WITH COFFEE BEANS
1. Li the water reservoir from the coee machine, fold open the cover and ll the reservoir under the tap with cold drinking
water up to the required level (2 to 10 cups = 0.25L to 1.25L). Do not ll the reservoir above the MAX 10 mark. Place the
reservoir back in the coee machine.
2. Swing open the lter holder. Remove the ring-shaped cover of the lter holder. Place the permanent, washable lter
or a paper coee lter (size 1x4) of which the edges have been folded back in the lter holder. This prevents the lter bag
from folding inwards and closing.
3. Place the ring-shaped cover back on the lter holder and fully swing back the lter holder, otherwise the glass jug will not
t properly under the lter holder.
4. Place the glass jug on the hot plate by sliding it under the lter holder with drip stop, making sure the spout of the jug
is in the centre, facing the coee machine.
5. Add coee beans in the coee bean holder on top of the coee machine. The holder is able to hold maximum 120 grammes
of coee beans, which is sucient for 2 full jugs of coee (20 cups of 6 grammes of coee).
Warning: Make sure that no foreign objects can end up in the coee bean holder. These might damage the appliance.
6. Insert the plug of the coee machine in an earthed wall socket. If the plug is already in the socket, but the coee machine
is switched o, briey press the [START/STOP] buon to acvate the operang panel of the coee machine.
7. Select the number of cups of coee for which coee beans should be ground by means of the rotary knob on the operang
panel at the front of the coee machine (2 – 10 cups). Adjust this number to the amount of water poured in the water
reservoir.
8. Use the rotary knob on top of the coee machine to select coarse or ne ground coee. Turn the stripe to the large coee
bean for coarse grind, or to the small coee bean for ne grind.
9. Select the required coee strength by pressing the [LIGHT] or [STRONG] buon. This determines how quickly the water
passes through the coee. At a low ow rate, the coee has more me to acquire taste and this has an eect on the
strength of the coee. If you wish, press the [STRONG] buon for extra strong coee. The indicator led at the chosen seng
[LIGHT] or [STRONG] lights up.
10. Start the coee machine by pressing the [START/STOP] buon. This buon and the ring-shaped indicator led start to ash,
the coee beans are being ground and aer that coee is made.
11. Once the ltering process has been completed, a beep will sound and the ring-shaped indicator led lights up connuously.
Take the glass jug from the hot plate and pour the coee. Tilt the glass jug by no more than 45 degrees to avoid spillage.
The hot plate under the glass jug is switched on automacally when making coee and is switched o again aer
35 minutes (three beeps will sound and the ring-shaped indicator led goes out).
12. Coee tastes best immediately aer it has been made, so do not wait too long before serving. The glass jug can
immediately be placed back on the hot plate or you can pour the coee into a thermos jug.
MAKING COFFEE WITH SHOP BOUGHT EXTRA-FINE GRIND COFFEE
When making coee with shop bought extra-ne grind coee, you must add extra-ne grind coee in the lter and press
the [GRIND OFF] buon so that the accompanying indicator led lights up before you start the coee machine. In that case,
no beans will be ground.
3. Scoop the required amount of coee (extra-ne grind) into the lter bag or permanent lter and gently shake the lter
to even out the coee. According to your taste, use 1 level measuring spoon per cup of coee. This is approximately
5-7 grammes of coee per cup. For 10 cups you will use 10 level measuring cups of extra-ne grind coee.
4. Place the ring-shaped cover back on the lter holder and fully swing back the lter holder, otherwise the glass jug will not
t properly under the lter holder.
