* If you have opted for a panel set , you must install this first before placing the decorative set.
See section 11.6
* The decorative log inset / pebbles or Carrara set may now be installed. Please see sections 11.3, 11.4 and 11.5
and the photos on pages 36 to 49 outlining the order in which items are placed.
* With models 1053/54/55 and 1070/1071/1072/1073: on a natural gas version the burner plate has
perforations, while on the BP (butane/propane) version this plate is tight, see also images on page 36.
On the BP version, keep the air slot between the burner and the burner plate free of glowing material.
* Before reinserting the window, check whether or not a restriction plate needs to be installed.
See page 38 fig. L+M and the “Table of concentric pathways” on page 28.
* If a restriction plate in the flue is required for your installation situation, remove the baffle plate by unscrewing
it on the front and back (see page 38 fig. L). Now install the restriction plate using the two supplied screws
(see page 38, fig. L) and reinsert the baffle plate.
* With models 1053/54/55 and 1070/1071/1072/1073 : if there is an exterior wall outlet, remove the baffle
plate! See the table on page 28.
11.3 Fitting the ceramic log inset (see page 39 to 53)
Please note: when installing the log inset and the various glowing materials and accessories, the
following must be taken into account:
* Models 1053/54/55 BP and 1070/1071/1072/1073: Keep the opening between the burner and the burner plate
free of glowing material
* There should be no glowing material in or on the pilot burner.
* Ceramic materials should not come into contact with the cord of the window fixture.
Remove this if necessary. The window may otherwise be damaged.
* ALL MODELS: Mix the glowing material (lava granules) and the “fusilli” (spiral-shaped ceramic material)
and spread them evenly over the burner and the burner plate so that they are just covered. See below for more
details for each unit. Glowing embers can be placed here and there as decoration.
NOTE: the remaining material can be discarded. The use of too much glowing material can adversely affect
the combustion process
* MODELS 1040/1041/1042: Mix the glowing material and spread the lava granules and the fusilli
evenly over the burner and the burner plate so that they are just covered.
Insert the logs in the correct order as shown on pages 39,40 and 41.
* MODELS 1045/1046/1047: Mix the glowing material and spread the lava granules and the fusilli
evenly over the burner and the burner plate so that they are just covered.
Insert the logs in the correct order as shown on page 42.
Glowing embers can be placed here and there as decoration.
* MODELS 1053/1054/1055: on the “BP” version the burner must only be filled with fusilli and the
burner plate with mixed lava and fusilli. Insert the logs in the correct order
as shown on pages 43 en 44.
Glowing embers can be placed here and there as decoration.
* MODELS 1056/1057/1058: Insert the logs in the correct order as shown on pages 45 to 46.
Glowing embers can be placed here and there as decoration.
* MODELS 1070/1071/1072/1073: Mix the glowing material and spread the lava granules and the fusilli
evenly over the burner and the burner plate so that they are just covered.
Insert the logs in the correct order as shown on pages 47 and 48.
MAKE SURE THE PILOT LIGHT REMAINS UNOBSTRUCTED FROM DECORATION MATERIAL!
Incorrectly installed ceramic wood blocks and glowing material may have a significant influence on
the fire image and the burning effect.
