868 MHz-EMPFANGSTEST
Die Wetterstation sollte die Temperaturdaten spätestens 3 Minuten nach der Inbetriebnahme
empfangen und anzeigen. Ist dies nicht innerhalb dieser Zeitspanne der Fall (die
Außenbereichsanzeige zeigt nach mehreren Empfangs-Fehlversuchen nur “- - -”), so
überprüfen Sie bitte folgende Punkte:
1. Der Abstand von Wetterstation und Außensender zu Störquellen wie z. B.
Computermonitoren oder Fernsehgeräten sollte mindestens 1,5 – 2 Meter betragen.
2. Vermeiden Sie, die Geräteeinheiten direkt an oder in die Nähe von metallischen Türen
oder Fensterrahmen zu platzieren.
3. Die Benutzung anderer, auf derselben Frequenz (868 MHz) arbeitender Geräte wie z.
B. Kopfhörer oder Lautsprecher kann die korrekte Signalübertragung verhindern.
4. Störungen des Empfangs können auch von Nachbarn verursacht werden, die auf
derselben Frequenz (868 MHz) arbeitende Geräte betreiben.
Hinweis:
Wird das 868 MHz-Signal korrekt übertragen und empfangen, so sollten die Batteriefächer
von Wetterstation und Außensender nicht mehr geöffnet werden. Es könnten sich dadurch
die Batterien aus den Kontakten lösen und damit eine unerwünschte Rückstellung
herbeiführen. Sollte dies trotzdem versehentlich vorkommen, so müssen zur Vermeidung von
Übertragungsproblemen alle Einheiten neu eingestellt werden (siehe “Grundeinstellung“
oben).
Der Sendebereich vom Außensender zur Wetterstation beträgt im Freifeld etwa 100 Meter.
Dies ist jedoch von den Umgebungsbedingungen und möglichen Störquellen abhängig. Ist
trotz Beachtung aller o. g. Faktoren kein Empfang möglich, so sind alle Geräteteile neu
einzustellen (siehe “Grundeinstellung“ oben).
PLATZIERUNG DER WETTERSTATION:
Die Wetterstation wurde so konstruiert, dass freies Aufstellen oder
Wandmontage möglich ist.
Stellen Sie vor der Wandmontage sicher, dass die Außentemperatur an
der gewünschten Montagestelle korrekt empfangen werden kann.
Wandmontage wie folgt:
1. Drehen Sie eine Schraube (nicht im Lieferumfang) an der
gewünschten Montagestelle in die Wand und lassen Sie deren Kopf
etwa 5 mm von der Wand abstehen.
2.
Entfernen Sie den Aufsteller, indem Sie ihn vom unteren Teil der
Wetterstation abziehen. Hängen Sie die Wetterstation vorsichtig an
die Schraube. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Gerät vor dem Loslassen
sicher am Schraubenkopf einrastet.
Freie Aufstellung
Mithilfe des ausklappbaren Aufstellers kann die Wetterstation auf jeder
beliebigen ebenen Fläche aufgestellt werden.
PLATZIERUNG DES AUSSENTEMPERATURSENDERS:
Wählen Sie einen geschützten Montageort. Vermeiden Sie direkten
Regen oder Sonnenschein.
Der Außensender ist mit einem Halter ausgerüstet, der mithilfe zweier
mitgelieferter Schrauben an eine Wand montiert werden kann. Wird
der Halter an der Unterseite des Außensenders fixiert, so kann der
Außensender auch auf jeder ebenen Fläche aufgestellt werden.
Wandmontage wie folgt:
1. Befestigen Sie den Halter mithilfe von Schrauben und Dübeln an
der gewünschten Stelle an der Wand.
2.
Klinken Sie den Temperatursender in den Halter.
Hinweis:
Bevor Sie den Halter fest montieren, platzieren Sie bitte alle Gerätteile
an den gewünschten Aufstell- und Montageorten und prüfen Sie ob die
Außenbereichsdaten korrekt empfangen werden. Sollte dies nicht der
Fall sein, so genügt in den meisten Fällen für einen ausreichenden
Signalempfang ein geringfügiges Verschieben der Montagestelle(n).
PFLEGE UND WARTUNG
•
Reinigen Sie das Gerät und den Sender mit einem weichen, leicht feuchten Tuch.
Keine Scheuer- oder Lösungsmittel verwenden! Vor Feuchtigkeit schützen.
•
Entfernen Sie die Batterien, wenn Sie das Gerät längere Zeit nicht verwenden.

Do not expose the instrument to extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.

The outdoor transmitter is protected against splash water, but is not watertight. Choose
a shady and dry position for the transmitter.

HOW TO INSTALL AND REPLACE BATTERIES IN THE TEMPERATURE
TRANSMITTER
The temperature transmitter uses 2 x AA, IEC LR6, 1.5V batteries. To
install and replace the batteries, please follow the steps below:
1. Remove the battery compartment cover at the back of the
transmitter.
2. Insert the batteries, observing the correct polarity (see marking).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover on the unit.
HOW TO INSTALL AND REPLACE BATTERIES IN THE WEATHER STATION
The weather station uses 3 x AAA, IEC LR3,
1.5V batteries. To install and replace the
batteries, please follow the steps below:
4. Lift up the battery compartment cover.
5. Insert batteries observing the correct
polarity (see marking).

Replace the batteries of the weather station when the battery symbol appears near the
indoor temperature display.
•
When the batteries of the transmitter are used up, the low battery icon appears near
the outdoor temperature display.
Note:
Please note: When the batteries are changed, the contact between transmitter and receiver
must be restored – so always insert new batteries into both units.
SETTING UP:
Note: This weather station receives only one outdoor transmitter.
1. First, insert the batteries into the temperature transmitter. (see “Install and replace
batteries in the temperature transmitter“).
2. Immediately after and within 30 seconds, insert the batteries into the weather station
(see “Install and replace batteries in the weather station”). Once the batteries are in
place, all segments of the LCD will light up briefly. Following the time as 0:00 and the
weather icon will be displayed. If these are not displayed after 60 seconds, remove the
batteries and wait for at least 30 seconds before reinserting them.
3. After inserting the batteries, the weather station will start receiving data from the
transmitter. The outdoor temperature and the signal reception icon should then be
displayed on the weather station. If this does not happen after 3 minutes, the batteries
will need to be removed from both units and reset from step 1.
4. In order to ensure sufficient 868 MHz transmission however, this should under good
conditions be a distance no more than 100 meters between the final position of the
weather station and the transmitter (see notes on “Mounting” and “868 MHz
Reception”).
5. Once the remote temperature has been received and displayed on the weather station,
the DCF time (radio controlled time) code reception is automatically started. This takes
typically between 3-5 minutes in good conditions.
DCF RADIO CONTROLLED TIME
The time base for the radio controlled time is a Cesium Atomic Clock operated by the
Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig which has a time deviation of less than
one second in one million years. The time is coded and transmitted from Mainflingen near
Frankfurt via frequency signal DCF-77 (77.5 kHz) and has a transmitting range of
approximately 1,500 km. Your radio-controlled clock receives this signal and converts it to
show the precise time in summer or wintertime.
The quality of the reception depends greatly on the geographic location. In normal cases,
there should be no reception problems within a 1,500 km radius of Frankfurt.
DCF reception is done twice daily at 02:00 and 03:00 a.m. If the reception is not successful at
03:00 a.m., then the next reception takes place the next hour and so on until 06:00 a.m., or
until the reception is successful. If the reception is not successful at 06:00 a.m., then the next
attempt will take place the next day at 02:00 a.m.
If the tower icon flashes, but does not set the time or the DCF tower does not appear at all,
then please take note of the following:
•
Recommended distance to any interfering sources like computer monitors or TV sets is
a minimum of 1.5 - 2 meters.
•
Within ferro-concrete rooms (basements, superstructures), the received signal is
naturally weakened. In extreme cases, please place the unit close to a window and/ or
point its front or back towards the Frankfurt transmitter.
•
During nighttime, the atmospheric disturbances are usually less severe and reception is
possible in most cases. A single daily reception is adequate to keep the accuracy
deviation under 1 second.
FUNCTION KEYS:
Weather station:
The weather station has four easy to use function keys.

LCD SCREEN:
* When the outdoor signal is successfully received by the weather station, this icon will be
switched on. (If not successful, the icon will not be shown in LCD). The user can easily see
whether the last reception was successful (icon on) or not (icon off).
MANUAL SETTINGS:
The following manual settings can be done in the setting mode:

Press the SET key to advance to the setting mode:
TIME ZONE SETTING:
The time zone default is "0" hour. To set a different time zone:
1. The current time zone value starts flashing.
2. Use the + key to set the time zone. The range runs from 0, -1, -2…-12, 12, 11, 10… 2,
1, 0, in consecutive 1-hour intervals.
3.
Confirm with the SET key and enter the Time reception ON/OFF setting.
TIME RECEPTION ON/OFF SETTING
In area where reception of the radio-controlled time (DCF time) is not possible, the time
reception function can be turned OFF. The clock will then work as a normal Quartz clock.
(Default setting is ON).
1. The digit “ON” digit will start flashing on the LCD.
2. Use the + key to turn OFF the time reception function if necessary.
3. Confirm with the SET key and enter the Manual time setting.
Note:
If the time reception function is turned OFF manually, the clock will not attempt any reception
of the radio-controlled time (DCF time) as long as the time reception OFF function is
activated. The time reception icon and the DCF icon will not be displayed on the LCD.
MANUAL TIME SETTING
In case the weather station is not able to detect the radio-controlled time (DCF time) signal
(disturbances, transmitting distance, etc.), the time can be manually set. The clock will then
work as a normal Quartz clock.
To set the clock:
1. The hour digits start flashing in the time display section.
