Dynamic Comp.
Dynamic compensation regulates volume differences
between individual tracks on CDs or other audio sources
and ensures that playback is neither too loud nor too
quiet. Possible settings: On, Off.
LIPSYNC menu
Digital image processing in the television can take some
time. In order to keep the image and sound synchronous,
you can delay the sound by a few milliseconds using the
LipSync function. Here you can set the audio delay from
0 to 200 ms for synchronous audio.
SPEAKER SETUP menu
Levels
Here you can adjust the relative volume from “–10” (de-
crease) to “+10” (increase) for each speaker individually.
It is recommended to use our sound level meter to opti-
mally adjust the sound level.
Sub Phase
This allows you to activate and deactivate the phase shift
(180°) for the subwoofer. Select the setting, with which
the subwoofer produces the loudest and clearest sound.
Distance
The surround sound effect may be corrupted if the speak-
ers are positioned at different distances to the listening
position. To compensate for these differences in run
time, you can set a slight signal delay for all channels.
Measure the difference from the listening position to each
speaker and enter these values in the menu. The system
calculates the required delay times for optimal surround
sound reproduction.
Crossover
If you are using satellites and subwoofers, you will have
to select a crossover frequency in the DecoderStation 5.
Otherwise, the sound quality will suffer and the satellites
could be damaged.
With the crossover frequency, you define the frequency,
up to which the subwoofer should be active. Possible
values: 80 to 250 Hz in eight steps.
You can find information on the recommended crossover
frequency in the technical data of the respective satellite
speakers in our webshop.
Size
You can set the size of the speakers in use here for
optimal actuation of the speakers. You can choose from
seven configurations:
LLL All speakers are large, no subwoofer.
LLL+Sub All speakers are large, subwoofer present.
LSL Large front and rear speakers, small center
speaker, no subwoofer.
LSL+Sub Large front and rear speakers, small center
speaker, subwoofer present.
LSS Large front speakers, small center and rear
speakers, no subwoofer.
LSS+Sub Large front speakers, small center and rear
speakers, subwoofer present.
SSS+Sub All speakers are small, subwoofer present.
The letters represent the speakers: Front left/right, center,
rear left/right. In this context, S stands for small and
L for large speakers. “+Sub” stands for a connected
subwoofer.
If you connect the DecoderStation to a multichannel ac-
tive subwoofer, select the setting SSS+Sub.
Channel Count
Here you can set the speaker configuration (5.1 or 2.1
system). This ensures that the system is able to optimally
distribute the audio signal among the speakers.
2.1 Channel Only the front speakers on the left/right and
subwoofer.
5.1 Channel All channels have been assigned speakers.
SYSTEM SETUP
AUTO OFF
If inactive, the device switches to standby after a selected
amound of time. Possible values:
Disable (never), 15 min., 30 min.
System Reset
This resets the device to the factory default.
FW Version
Here, you can view the firmware version installed on the
device.
