7.1.3. WIFI connection
A wireless signal is always transmitted directly from point to point or from antenna to
antenna. The quality of a wireless connection therefore depends on any obstacles that
have to be overcome in the air or on the way from the DABMAN to the opposite device.
This means that a setup position with a shorter distance can in fact result in a poorer
connection.
If, for example, more walls or other sources of interference have to be
overcome, the signal quality decreases despite the shorter distance:
However, the following applies: the more transmission power the router has, the greater
the reception range!
7.1.4. Setting up the wireless connection on the radio
To integrate the device into your network, the DABMAN i300 CD starts the wizard for
connecting to your network.
It starts by listing all the networks found.
You should find yours among them, too.
It'll look something like this:
Now please select the network which you would like to connect to. If the network you
are looking for does not appear, you can use the ‘Rescan’ menu item to repeat the
search.
After selecting the network, you must now enter the network password. At the least if
your WIFI router has been encrypted.
The passwords for your WIFI router are entered via the navigation wheel:
By turning the wheel you select the letters and numbers; by pressing the wheel you con-
firm
your entry, You can find the special characters by scrolling on with the
wheel.
