Assembly
Before first operation, the integrated rechargeable battery requires re-charging.
Please refer the following chapter Power supply and battery charge.
The normal usage of WAP-R8900 is portable operation with playback by the
integrated speaker system. This does not require any installations.
WAP-R8900 supports playback of FM broadcast, UpnP mediaserver as well as
internet radio (via wlan) and direct connected storage devices (USB/SD).
For the network connection through wlan for playback of mediaserver and internet
radio, there are some settings required. You can find these settings in the following
related chapters.
Basic assembly of this system is very easy to do.
Please connect all components only when they are switched off.
● Connect WAP-R8900 from backside audio outputs to your audio system by
the supplied audio cable - or connect your headphone to the appropriate
output.
● Setup and connect your computer network, if required.
● Connect the WAP to the power supply (DC connector).
● Before connections, check your mains power system to be appropriate to
the WAP-R8900 power supply.
● Connect the power adaptor to mains supply.
● Switch on the main power switch at the lower backside of the WAP. Few
seconds later, the boot screen appears, after that you will see the graphical
user interface.
● By medium long push (1-2s) on the Power button, WAP-R8900 will be
switched into clock mode.
● By long push (> 4s) on the Power button, WAP-R8900 will be switched into
standby mode.
● WAP-R8900 will be switched ON again by short push on the Power button.
Switching standby on/off as well as volume and all other control functions of your
WAP-R8900 system can be done by the buttons/touchpad on top of the unit or by
ifrared remote control (RC). The LC display does not only display the received
commands but it can also show contents such as music track playback data, cover
pictures etc. of the actual music track!
Since WAP-R8900 can playback audio files from WLAN, Internet Radio and
connected USB/SD storages, there are various settings possible. Please read the
related chapters to setup your WAP-R8900 correctly for best performance with all
sources.
