4 Preliminary Information
This chapter provides basic information on using the operating instruction manual and the
telephone.

On: A call is currently being made.
Flashing: A call has been received.
The ringing melody of the handset is deactivated; Page 63.
On: The call list is open.
Flashing: New calls have been registered in the call list; Page 60.
You have opened the phone book; Page 59.
The alarm clock is activated; Page 64.
The handsfree facility is activated; Page 63.
KEYS LOCKED The key lock function is activated; Page 63.
MUTE ON The microphone is deactivated (muted); Page 63.
Answering machine provided in the telephone network.

On: The connection to the base station is good.
Flashing: The connection to the base station is interrupted. Move nearer to
the base station.
