3.4.1.2 Apply these settings to the DVR
From the main menu, select SETUP, then NETWORK.
Ensure the Gateway and Alternate DNS Server fields
are filled in with your router’s local IP address.
Other settings on this screen are only relevant to
advanced users, and should be left as default. If these
are changed, it may affect your DVR’s connection to
the network.
NOTE
Please ensure DHCP is left unticked. If it is
selected, the IP address will be
automatically assigned as required, and
remote connection will be delayed as the
server will need to “find” the DVR again.
3.4.1.3 P2P Cloud setup
From the NETWORK menu, select the P2P tab.
This displays your DVR cloud service options. Ensure
Enable is set to OPEN, and Status shows Online. If it
doesn’t, click Ping for the system to check the status.
NOTE
If the system does not show Online after
the check, please check the DVR is
properly connected to the network.
Note your device’s ID and password. The device ID is
unique to your DVR and cannot be changed, however
you can set a new password if desired.
3.4.2 Access the DVR from a computer using a browser
In Internet Explorer, go to www.vssweb.net. Your browser may prompt you to install an ActiveX control, please
allow this.
If a security warning box pops up, the ActiveX control
cannot be downloaded due to Internet Explorer’s
normal security settings.
To resolve this, please add www.vssweb.net to
Internet Explorer’s trusted websites. These are
approved websites and benefit from lower security
settings.
In your browser, click Tools, then Internet Options.
