MF1 safety precautions / installation
n Please only plug the module in with the mains
power supply switched OFF. (see Fig.)
n Only use genuine replacement parts.
n The wireless module must not be plugged in
when using the Install mode.
Technology
868 MHz, bidirectional. Reach up to 100 m,
depending on the line of vision, walls, wall pro-
jections, corridor corners, wall reflections etc.
Recommendation: reliable wireless link up to
30 m is ideal.
The optional wireless receiver extends lighting
control within a group of luminaires, making it
the ideal accessory for intelligently intercon-
necting high-bay sensors.

Wireless communication
STEINEL wireless lighting controllers are
grouped together through a DIP switch address.
When a wireless presence sensor in the group
detects a movement, all devices in that group
will be switched ON. For example, when a
sensor detects the presence of a person and
switches the light ON, this switching command
will be sent to all wireless devices in this group.
All these devices then switch the light ON. Light
only switches OFF when command signals stop
being sent to the group and the last device's
stay-ON time has elapsed. The switching sig-
nals are limited by the devices' wireless reach.

Groups
The 5 position DIP switch on all STEINEL wire-
less devices can be used for setting 32 different
addresses or groups.
All devices in a group must have the same DIP
switch setting. The ON switching commands
only apply within a group.
