STARTING UP:
MAKING YOGURT
1. Make sure that the power plug is disconnected. Place the appliance in an upright
position on a clean, stable, dry, level as well as moisture and heat resistant work
top. Fully unwind the power cord.
2. Turn the lid in a clockwise direction. Lift it off the ice cream container and take
the ice cream container out of the appliance. Caution: The stirring tool is not
attached when the appliance is used to make yogurt!
3. Put the well blended yogurt ingredients (temperature approx. 38 40°C) into the
ice cream container (please see the “yogurt recipe”). Wipe potential residues off
the sides of the ice cream container.
Caution: Do not overfi ll the ice cream container! Pour a maximum of 1 litre of
milk and 50 ml of yogurt into the ice cream container to put on the yogurt!
4. Make sure that the ice cream container chamber and the outside of the ice
cream container are absolutely dry before lowering the ice cream container into
the chamber.
5. Place the ice cream container in the ice cream container chamber.
6. There are two recesses in the ice cream container chamber. When lowering it
in, position the ice cream container so that the joints of the two handle-grips
glide into these recesses.
7. Place the lid on the ice cream container and turn it in a counter clockwise direc-
tion to fi rmly shut it.
Caution: Please do not open the lid during the preparation unless it is explicitly
mentioned in the recipe. Should you need to add ingredients during use, open
the smaller folding lid, using the handle.
8. Plug the power plug into a suitable power outlet, the POWER button fl ashes
faintly in the display and the appliance is in standby mode.
9. Touch the POWER button for approx. 1 second to switch the appliance to
settings mode. “60:00”, representing the time setting, and all button symbols
light up in the screen.
10. Touch the yogurt program button
to switch the appliance to yogurt prepa-
ration mode. The standard setting “08H” lights up in the screen.
11. If required, change the standard operation time by pressing the
or but-
tons. In yogurt mode, the time changes at 1 hour intervals, if you press and hold
the buttons for more than 2 seconds, the operation time is changed at a higher
rate. Settings between 4 hours and a maximum of 24 hours are possible.
 TERMINATING ICE CREAM PREPARATION
If the time in the display has reached “00:00”, switch the appliance off by touch-
ing the POWER button for approx. 1 second (the screen goes dark, excluding
the POWER button, which continues to fl ash faintly), then pull the plug. Open
the lid by turning it in a clockwise direction, take it off and use the handle to pull
the ice cream container out of the appliance. If the ice cream container is frozen
in place, wait for a few minutes, then you should be able to lift it up easily.
Note: When making ice cream, it can happen that the mixture solidifi es before
the set time has fully elapsed. In such a case, the motor overload protection
stops the stirring tool and it stops rotating. However, the time in the display
keeps counting down and the ice cream is cooled until you switch the appliance
off with the POWER button resp. until the time has reached “00:00”. You can
switch the appliance off with the POWER button and take the ice cream out
once the stirring tool stops.
If you do not switch the appliance off right after the screen has reached
“00:00”, the appliance switches to automatic refrigeration function. After
10 minutes, the cooling unit and the fan switch on, “COOL” is displayed in the
screen and the appliance keeps the ice cream mixture cool for up to 10 minutes.
After that, the appliance switches to standby mode with 3 signal sounds, the
refrigeration function stops, the screen goes dark and only the POWER button
is lit up.
If you want to keep the ice cream cool even longer, you can use the
button
to select the refrigeration function and the START / PAUSE button to start the
program. However, this only cools the ice cream mixture and does not mix it.
Therefore, it is possible for the ice cream mixture to freeze up with the ice cream
container getting stuck in the machine. In such a case, switch the appliance off
and wait for a few minutes before removing the ice cream container.
Important: If you do not want to eat the ice cream right away, we recommend
transferring it to another, air tight container and placing it in the freezer.
Under all circumstances, use the included plastic scraper or another plastic spat-
ula to take the ice cream out of the container. Never handle a metal kitchen tool
inside the ice cream container!
Never place the ice cream container itself in the freezer!
