CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The recommended cleaning intervals depend on the air and water quality as well
as the operation time and frequency.
Before cleaning, always switch the appliance off and pull the power plug from
the socket.
We recommend filling the appliance with fresh water every day.
WEEKLY CLEANING OF THE WATER TUB AND THE WATER
TANK AS WELL AS THE HUMIDIFICATION MAT
1. CLEANING THE WATER TUB
Particles of dirt and microorganisms collect in the water tub during use, which
is why the tub has to be cleaned regularly, at least once a week. With the water
tank removed, carefully pull the water tub with the humidification mat out of
the appliance. Remove the mounting with the humidification mat. Empty out
the water tub. Use tap water not warmer than 30 °C with some mild detergent
and a soft towel resp. a soft sponge to clean the tub.
After this first cleaning cycle, the adherent limestone deposits should be
removed. To do this, dip the soft towel / the soft sponge into a solution of des-
caler suitable for air humidifiers and water. For the correct ratio of water and
descaling agent, please refer to the information given on the packaging of the
descaling agent. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar. Remove the deposits
with the soaked towel / sponge.
After that, rinse the inside of tub thoroughly with water. Dry the inside of the
tub with a soft towel and leave it to air-dry with the appliance opened.
2. CLEANING THE WATER TANK
Clean the water tank with a moist towel and rinse the inside with some tap
water. After that, empty the tank out completely.
If there are any limestone deposits in the water tank, they should be removed.
To do that, dip a soft towel / a soft sponge into the same descaling solution that
you used for the water tub. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar. Remove
the limestone deposits in the water tank with the soaked towel / sponge. After
that, carefully rinse the water tank with clear water multiple times and pour the
water away.
It is absolutely necessary that the air humidifier is completely emptied out and
cleaned if the water-filled appliance has not been used for more than a week.
Caution:
The humidification disks and the water tub cannot be cleaned in the
dish washer!
In general, please do not use any aggressive or abrasive detergents or
metal sponges, as these might damage the surface.
The correction of defects caused by the use of improper descaling agent
is excluded from warranty.
3. CLEANING THE HUMDIFICATION MAT
Once a week, but at the latest when the Clean Mat light switches on, the
humidification mat needs to be cleaned.
1. With the appliance switched off and unplugged, remove the humidification mat
and the mounting from the water tub.
2. Remove the humidification mat from the zig-zag mounting.
3. For one hour, place the humidification mat in a 1:1 solution of water and white
vinegar. After that, rinse the humidification mat with clear water. Never clean
the humidification mat with a descaling agent.
4. After the vinegar has been washed out, place the humidification mat back in the
mounting and place the mounting in the water tub. The markings in the bottom
of the water tub indicate precisely how the mounting has to be positioned.
5.
Before starting to use the appliance again, you have to perform a Reset to make
the Clean Mat warning light go out. To do that, press and hold the ON/OFF
button and the Screen Off button simultaneously for at least 3 seconds until
the warning light goes out.
6. You can now use the appliance as usual.
