3. Adjusting the Volume
The Snooper Sapphire has an adjustable volume
for controlling the loudness of the audible alert.
To increase the volume push the ‘OK’ control on
the right hand side of the unit upwards.
To decrease the volume of the unit push the
‘OK’ control downwards.
4. MEM Button
If in the unlikely event that you pass a location of a fixed safety camera and your Snooper Sapphire does not
provide you with an alert, you have the opportunity to store the coordinates of this location manually. Simply
park safely as close as possible to the fixed safety
camera site and press and hold the ‘MEM’ button
for approximately two seconds.
A screen will be displayed asking if you want to
‘Save User Position?’ Use the ‘OK’ control to
highlight ‘Yes’ and then press the ‘OK’ control
to confirm.
When you next pass the fixed safety camera site
again your Snooper Sapphire will now alert you to
the new location. User points can be edited so that
the correct alert for that camera location is given.
As the unit does not know what type of system you are
passing until the user point is edited the unit will alert to the coordinate as a high risk zone (See ‘User Points’
on page 17). Your unit can hold up to 99 coordinates in its memory.
5. MUTE Button
If during an alert you decide that you would like to mute the audible alert, but still retain a visual alert simply
press the MUTE button. The screen will continue to display a visual alert but no audible alert will be produced.
After you have travelled out of range of that location the unit will automatically reset so that the next time you
encounter a fixed speed camera location you will receive both an audible and a visual alert as normal.
6. Cancelling an Alert
If during an alert you decide that you would like to cancel it simply press and hold either the MEM or MUTE
buttons. The display will confirm that the alert has been cancelled and will return to the standby screen.
7. Logic Modes
There are three Logic modes that you can select on your Snooper Sapphire. These different Logic settings
determine how the Sapphire alerts you to fixed speed safety cameras.
Logic 1
When in Logic 1 your unit will alert you both audibly and visually to fixed safety cameras on both sides of the
carriageway as you approach them.
Logic 2 (Factory Default Setting)
When Logic 2 is selected your unit will alert you both audibly and visually as you approach fixed safety cam-
eras on your side of the carriageway only.
Logic 3
When Logic 3 is selected your unit will alert you to fixed safety cameras on both sides of the carriageway but
will alert you audibly in different tones depending on your user settings. If, for example, you select the ‘Hard’
tone for alerting you to fixed safety cameras then you will be alerted to a camera on your side of the road in a
‘Hard’ tone but if the camera is on the opposite side of the road the audible alert provided will be in the ‘Soft’
tone and vice versa.
To change the Logic Mode of your unit please refer to the ‘Logic’ section on page 18.
