7 Online Update
7.1 Information about Online Update
You can automatically or manually install online updates for the following components:
• Sunny Design databases:
–Locations with country list
–PV modules
–SMA inverters
• General information and information about program updates:
– Sunny Design user manual
– Information about program and database updates
7.2 Show Date of Last Online Update
•Select Tools > Change settings, go to the "Settings" area and select "Online update".
☑ Sunny Design shows the date of the last online update below the "Settings" area next to
"Last online update on".
7.3 Perform Automatic Online Update
Requirements:
☐ The computer must have a connection to the Internet.
1. Select Tools > Change settings.
☑The "Settings" window opens.
2. Select the "Online update" area.
3. Activate the "Activate automatic search for updates" check-box.
4. In the "Settings" area, go to the "Interval" drop-down list to select the time interval for searching
for updates.
5. If there is a proxy server in your network, apply settings for the proxy server. The proxy settings
are used for connecting to the SMA Update Portal and for Sunny Design software updates:
• Activate the "Use proxy server" check-box.
•In the "Settings" area, enter the proxy server address in the "Proxy server address" field and
enter the proxy server's network port in the "Port" field.
• To use authentication, activate the "Use authentication" check-box. In the "Settings" area,
enter your user name for the proxy server in the "User name" field and enter your password
in the "Password" field.
☑ The settings for the proxy server are applied.
