Assembly and setting up
WARNING! RISK OF FIRE!
Never place the appliance underneath wall
cupboards or next to curtains, cupboard walls
or other flammable objects.
Place the appliance only on a heat-resistant
surface.
1) Take all the parts out of the box and remove
the packaging material and any protective
wrapping.
2) Clean all of the components as described in
the section “Cleaning and care”. Ensure that
all parts are completely dry.
3) Place the appliance on a heat-resistant, clean
and level surface. Ensure that you do not
place the appliance directly next to a wall
or a cupboard.
4) Insert the fat drip tray into the slot in the
front of the appliance (see also fold-out page).
Before first use
1) Wipe the griddle with a damp cloth.
2) Lightly grease the griddles with an oil that is
suitable for baking/grilling. This will make it
easier to remove any manufacturing-related
residue from the griddle.
3) Close the appliance.
4) Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The
red “Power” indicator lamp lights up.
The appliance heats up.
5) Wait for 5 minutes.
6) Then disconnect the plug and allow the
appliance to cool down.
NOTE
The first time the appliance heats up, a small
amount of smoke and smell may be generated:
this is caused by production residue. This is
completely normal and is not dangerous.
Provide sufficient ventilation; e.g. by opening a
window.
7) Wipe the griddle with a damp cloth after
cooling.
8) Clean the fat drip tray as described in the
section "Cleaning and Care".
9) Ensure that all parts are completely dry before
operating the appliance.
The appliance is now ready for use.
Operation
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
The appliance is extremely hot during use!
For this reason, do not touch anything but the
handle during use! Use an oven cloth if
you get hold of the appliance.
1) Now close the lid.
2) Insert the plug into a mains power socket. The
red “Power” indicator lamp lights up and
the appliance heats up.
3) As soon as the green “Ready” indicator lamp 
lights up, the appliance has heated up
sufficiently.
Open the lid at the handle and place the
food onto the griddle.
TIPS
The red „Power“ indicator lamp lights up
as soon as the mains plug is connected to a
mains socket.
Once the appliance has heated up, the green
„Ready“ indicator lamp also lights up.
However, the lamp may go out and on again
at any time. This means that the appliance is
maintaining the temperature and has heated
up again a little.
