6. Before initial use
Remove the SWKS 2400 H1 kettle and all accessories from the packaging and check the
completeness of the delivery. Remove the protective film. Keep the packaging material away from
children and dispose of it in an environmentally-friendly manner.
7. Initial use
Before you prepare water for consumption for the first time, you must first clean the kettle (4) in
order to remove dust and any remnants of the packaging material. Proceed as follows to clean the
kettle:
1. Open the lid (10) by pressing the lid release button (9) and rinse the kettle (4) with clear
water.
2. Fill the kettle (4) with drinking water up to ‘MAX 1,7l’ on the water level gauge.
3. Close the lid (10) by pressing it down. Boil the water once (see ‘Boiling the water’ section) and
pour it away.
Repeat steps 1–3. The kettle (4) is now clean and disinfected. You can now use the kettle.
7.1 Boiling the water
DANGER of electric shock
Keep the base (5) away from water. There is danger of electric shock.
WARNING
Boil the water and pour it away twice before you use the kettle for the first
time (see the previous section on ‘Initial use’).
WARNING
Always use fresh drinking water. Do not drink water that has been in the
kettle (4) for longer than an hour.
