9.1 Before your rst treatment
You must decide which energy level is right for your skin and the area you want
to treat. The device has 5 levels of energy from 1 (the lowest) to 5 (the highest).
For example, you might treat one area at energy level 1, and another at level 4.
Spot Test
To choose the right energy level, test each treatment area separately (refer to
the skin color chart at the front of this manual).
1. Press the control button to turn on the device. The level 1 energy level
indicator light will go on.
2. Set the energy level that is right for the area you wish to treat. If your skin
is very dark, the device will set the level automatically and the skin color
sensor light will go on (#5 in the diagram).
3. Place the treatment surface (#6 in the diagram) on your skin to deliver
one pulse. If you did not experience abnormal discomfort after 24 hours,
increase the energy level on your next test spot. Press the control button
again. This will increase the energy level.
4. Deliver one pulse on a dierent spot at energy level 2. Use the energy
levels indicated on the skin color chart. Wait 24 hours. If there are
no adverse eects, use a dierent test spot and continue testing at
increased energy levels to nd the highest level that is comfortable for
you and with no adverse eects.
5. When you nd the energy level that is most comfortable for that
treatment area, you can start your treatment.

Use a lower energy level if you experience any discomfort. Be sure to
do a spot test for part of the body you wish to treat.
9.2 Treatments with Silk'n Jewel
Follow these steps each time you treat an area.
1. Before treating an area, the skin should be shaved, clean, dry and free
of any powders, antiperspirants or deodorants. Do not wax, pluck or
tweeze the hair out.
