Setting up the Audio options
Allows you to set up the Audio device and sound status depending on the audio system being used with
the player.
Digital Output

With the unit in Stop mode, press the HOME
MENU
button.

Press the œ √ buttons to select Setup, then
press the OK button.

Press the † button to select Audio setup, then
press the
√ button. Audio setup menu will be
displayed.

Press the …† buttons to select ‘Digital
Output(S/PDIF)
’ or ‘Digital Output(HDMI)’
then press the
√ button.
•
Bitstream
: Select this when the Blu-ray disc
player is connected to a Dolby Digital or DTS
decoder (or an amplifier or other equipment
with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder) through
coaxial or optical port. Please refer to the page
20. When a Dolby Digital, DTS or MPEG DISC is
played, select this, the coaxial or optical port
will output in the corresponding digital format
(source code).

PCM
: Select this when the Blu-ray disc player
is connected with a TV or a power amplifier
• If you have selected a LPCM sound track on a disc, the output will automatically be set to PCM.
• When playing a Dolby Digital movie make sure the Digital Output is set to Bitstream.
• If the HDMI device (Receiver, TV) is not compatible with compressed formats (Dolby digital, DTS), the
audio signal outputs as PCM.
• Press the œ button to return to the previous menu. Press the RETURN or HOME MENU button to exit the
menu.
• When PCM is selected, these audio formats are output as PCM 5.1ch from the HDMI OUT and PCM 2ch
from Digital Audio Output.
