The brewing process
The light ring, the main indicator light and or
are lit.
The water in the reservoir is brought to the boil. With the
water reservoir lled to its maximum capacity, it will take
about 5 minutes to heat the water.
Once the perfect brewing temperature has been
reached the valve inside the water reservoir opens and
the brewing cycle begins.
The ‘click’ sound indicates that the valve opens and
closes for a perfect brewing result.
The ltered coffee starts owing into the glass jug.
Once the water has passed through, the light ring lights
up briey, and the hot-plate is activated for around 35
minutes. The unit switches off automatically afterwards.
To interrupt the brewing cycle, press the rotary control
again to turn the appliance off.
Hint: When preparing less than 8 cups, the glass jug can
be removed and the appliance switched off as soon as
brewing is complete, i.e. when no more coffee comes
out (see Stand-by-mode & switching off).
After the brewing cycle
Remove the glass jug from the unit. The non-drip valve
of the lter holder will close and prevent coffee from
dripping onto the hotplate.
To keep remaining coffee hot, replace the glass jug back
onto the hotplate.
The plate is kept hot for around 35 minutes after brewing
is complete. However, it may be turned off by pressing
the rotary control and selecting .
The unit is now in stand-by mode. It can be switched off
completely by pressing the rotary control .
Should you wish to start several brewing cycles one
after the other, allow the machine to cool down for at
least 5 minutes with the reservoir lid open before re-
using it. Use cold water only to rell the water reservoir.
Caution: Remember that the water reservoir and the
reservoir lid are still hot after the brewing cycle has been
completed and hot steam may escape from the reservoir
when opening the lid (Caution: Danger of scalding).
Keeping-warm
To keep the coffee hot longer after the automatic switch-
off, switch the unit on again by pressing the rotary
control .
Turn the rotary control until the symbol is lit.
Press the rotary control . The coffee is now kept hot.
The light ring, the main indicator light and are lit.
The hot-plate remains on for an additional 35 minutes.
Afterwards, the unit switches off automatically.
Stand-by-mode & switching off
If the brewing cycle or keep-warm function has been
interrupted by pressing the rotary control , the
appliance can be returned to standby mode, or switched
off.
Turn the rotary control until only the main indicator light
remains lit. The unit is now in stand-by-mode.
The unit can be switched off by selecting and
pressing the rotary control .
Cable storage
The cable storage space serves for storing the cable.
The recess at the bottom facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord.
Cleaning and care
Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is disconnected
from the power supply and has cooled down completely.
For safety reasons the coffee maker should not be
treated with water or liquids and should never be
immersed.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.
After each use:
Clean the lter system and glass jug:
To remove the coffee grounds, open the swing-out
lter, take off the lid and lift out the lter insert. Take out
the paper lter with the coffee grounds; as a natural
substance, the coffee grounds may be composted.
The glass jug, its lid, the lter lid and the lter insert may
be cleaned in hot soapy water or in the dishwasher.
The jug lid can be taken off for easy cleaning.
The individual parts should be thoroughly dried and then
re-tted to the unit.
If required:
Wipe the outer surfaces using a clean damp cloth; dry
thoroughly afterwards.
Wipe the inside of the reservoir with a clean damp cloth.
To prevent the outlet-valve of the water reservoir from
getting clogged, use a non-uffy cloth to clean the water
reservoir and the glass jug.
