In order to avoid possible damage to the device, you must make sure that the mains voltage in your household complies with the
voltage specifications on the rating plate of the mains adapter.
Avoid damage to the mains cable due to bending or contact with sharp edges.
The cable must be laid such that any tripping and unintended pulling is ruled out.
Always pull the adapter plug and/or power adapter, never pull the cable.
Set up the sunrise alarm clock and lay the cable such that you can always use the adapter plug and the power adapter without any
problems.
4.3 Battery operation
The sunrise alarm clock is operated as a back-up with three 1.5 V type LR6/R6/AA batteries.
Below you find some instructions how to use the batteries.
Always replace the batteries with comparable battery types.
Batteries must not be charge or reactivated by any other means. They must not be dismantled, thrown into open fire, or short-
circuited.
Remove discharged batteries immediately from the device! Increased risk of leaking!
If necessary, clean battery and device contacts before inserting the batteries.
Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucosa. In case of contact with battery acid, the affected spot must be immediately rinsed with
clear water and a doctor must be contacted.
Remove batteries from the device if the device is out of use for a longer period of time.
Always keep the batteries out of the reach of children. Batteries may be life-threatening if swallowed. Therefore, always keep the
batteries and the sunrise alarm clock out of the reach of young children. In case that a battery is swallowed, a doctor must be
contacted immediately.
Do not expose batteries to heat. Make sure that the sunrise alarm clock and thus the inserted batteries do not overheat, e.g. on a
heater or when exposed to direct sun. Non-observance of these instructions may cause damage or even the explosion of the
batteries and thereby to fire.
Information on the replacement of batteries is provided in chapter 7 "Battery change".
5 MAINTENANCE
5.1 Requirements for the operating environment
Do not use the sunrise alarm clock in the open air; use it in dry rooms only.
Do not use the sunrise alarm clock in the vicinity of water (e.g. bathroom, shower). Otherwise you risk electric shocks. Make sure
to avoid any water ingress in the device.
Protect the sunrise alarm clock against dust and extreme heat.
The sunrise alarm clock is protected against shocks which might occur during normal use.
Do not subject the sunrise alarm clock to dripping or splashing water. Do not deposit any objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) on
the sunrise alarm clock with mains adapter.
Do not deposit any candles or other open fire sources on the sunrise alarm clock with mains adapter.
Very strong magnetic fields (e.g. electrical welding devices, transformers) must absolutely be avoided; otherwise the accuracy of
chronometry might be affected. Non-observance of these instructions might result in malfunctions or damage to the sunrise alarm
clock.
5.2 Ambient temperature
The sunrise alarm clock may permanently be used at ambient temperatures between 0 °C to 40 °C. Do not expose the sunrise alarm
clock to temperatures between -10 °C and 0 °C for a longer period of time. If you remove the batteries (see chapter 7 "Battery
change"), the sunrise alarm clock may be stored at temperatures between -10 °C and 40 °C . Make sure to store the sunrise alarm
clock at a safe place. Avoid high temperatures (e.g. in a parked car or exposed to direct sun radiation) and permanently humid
environments.
5.3 Disposal
Batteries: Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. Please contact your local authority for disposal information.
Sunrise alarm clock: If you want to dispose of your sunrise alarm clock, you must observe the current regulations. Please

detergents. Ensure that no water drops remain on the display. Water may cause permanent colourations. Do not expose the display to
direct sun or ultraviolet radiation.
