10. Solving Problems
This chapter provides solutions to the most common problems you may encounter while
setting up and using your media player.
General Troubleshooting Tips
If you have problems setting up or using your media player, check these things first:
Are the remote batteries dead?
Is something blocking the remote signal receiver on the front of the media player?
Are all the media player’s cables connected properly? Are your media player and TV
plugged into an active power source? Are any of the cables damaged or faulty?
Is the volume on your TV turned down or muted? Is the volume on your media player
turned down or muted?
Is the TV set to the wrong input type?
Is your network down or disabled? Have the network settings changed?
Is your Internet service disrupted or disabled?
Is your FreeAgent drive fully inserted into the media player? If you have another device
connected to the media player to the USB port, is it properly connected (and powered on,
if needed)?
Are there movie, picture, or music files on your connected device?
Common Problems and Solutions
This section provides solutions to some common problems you may encounter while using
your media player.
Subtitles don’t appear on my movie.
The subtitle format may not be supported by your media player. Your media player supports
subtitles in these formats:
Make sure that the movie file and subtitle file have identical names. Also, ensure that the
movie file and subtitle file are stored in the same folder.
