Para introducir la fracción de oxígeno, acceda al modo planifi cador pulsando
el botón “mode” y el botón “lock”. El primer valor que verá será FO
2
y podrá
cambiarlo con el botón “light/set”. Cada vez que pulse el botón, la fracción de
oxígeno aumentará en un 1%.
El valor inicial es de 21% (aire); puede introducir valores de hasta el 99%, tras
el que regresará al 21%. Para facilitar la introducción de este valor, si mantiene
pulsado el botón “light/set”, los valores pasarán rápidamente, con una pequeña
pausa en 32% y 99%.
Si no introduce ningún valor, Xtender mostrará “- -” en la zona de la pantalla
reservada a la FO
2
, pero si introduce un valor, Xtender cambiará al modo Nitrox y
se activará el icono “NX” (Fig. 6).

Cuando Xtender está en modo Nitrox y a una profundidad superior a 1,5 metros
(5 pies), también muestra la presión parcial de oxígeno, justo encima del icono “NX”.
Señales de alarma
En situaciones que ponen en peligro al usuario, Xtender emite distintas alarmas
sonoras para advertirle sobre el riesgo:
• Alarma de velocidad de ascenso excesiva: alarma sonora cada 3 segundos
