TRANSPORT OF THE SCOTT SPEED PEDELEC

SCOTT speed pedelecs can be transported like conventional bicycles outside
(e) or inside the car. Always make sure the SCOTT speed pedelec is securely
fastened outside or inside the car and check the fastenings regularly. In addi-
tion, you should always remove the battery from your SCOTT speed pedelec
before fastening it outside the car. Stow the battery in its original cardboard
box (from the SCOTT dealer) and the possibly removable display (f) inside
the car and secure it appropriately to avoid any damage during transport.
Also dismount accessories, such as tyre pumps, panniers, etc.

CAUTION
The weight distribution on speed pedelecs differs significantly from the weight
distribution on bicycles without drive. A SCOTT speed pedelec is significant-
ly heavier than a bicycle without drive. For this reason parking, pushing, lifting
and carrying the SCOTT speed pedelec is more difficult. Bear this in mind when
loading your pedelec into a car and unloading it or when mounting it on a bicycle
carrier system.
NOTICE
Before transporting several SCOTT speed pedelecs with a roof mounting or a rear
mounting carrier system, inform yourself about the maximum load capacity of the
bicycle carrier. Keep in mind that the weight of a SCOTT speed pedelec is higher
than the weight of a bicycle without drive. Maybe you can only transport one or
two SCOTT speed pedelecs instead of three bicycles without drive.
Mounting the battery
Insert the battery with the connection piece showing upwards into the bat-
tery compartment in the front area of the frame’s down tube (a). Then slide
it into the down tube in the area of the lock. Also turn the key in the battery
lock anticlockwise to lower it (b). With a slight pressure on the battery hous-
ing it engages with an audible click for the first time. Subsequently, press
the battery with both hands completely into the down tube (c). In doing so
it engages for good. Finish by checking that the upwards showing battery
cover is flush with the frame over the entire circumference of the battery
compartment (d). Pull out the key and keep it in a safe place.
CAUTION
The battery is very heavy; you must therefore hold it firmly to prevent it from
falling. Risk of breakage!
CAUTION
Do not leave the key in the battery lock. You might easily catch on the projecting
key and hurt yourself. The key is also at risk of breaking.
SAFETY INSTRUCTION
Take a photo or write down the key number imprinted on the key. This allows you
to order a replacement key from the manufacturer of the battery lock via your
SCOTT dealer.
