B16 Always position the saw blade perpendicular
and guide it through the material until it rea-
ches the bottom end.
B17 Spiral tubing and longitudinal sawing
Guide the saw blade through the workpiece
until it projects by just 10 mm. Do not place
the complete saw blade into the material. Then
move the saw forwards or backwards through
the material.
B18 Thin plate
Ensure that the saw blade does not project
out of the bottom of the workpiece by more
than 10 mm.
FEED
The feed speed is the speed at which you push
the saw blades through the material. The correct
speed depends on the hardness and thickness of
the material.
Finding the correct feed speed:
If the feed speed is too low, the saw blades will
only exert pressure on the material instead of cut-
ting through it. The result of this is that the edges
of the saw blades slip which results in wear on the
material. This then results in poor cutting quality
and excessive wear on the saw blades.
If the feed speed is too high there is a high risk
that the cut will crack. These cracks generally tend
to increase in size so that ultimately the material
fractures, which may cause very serious injuries.
9. Fitting the saw blades
REMOVING THE SAW BLADES
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and allow
the saw to cool down before starting any assem-
bly, modification and servicing work. This will
prevent the saw being started by accident.
Wear safety gloves for carrying out all servicing
work on the saw.
Press the spindle locking knob (B2).
Turn the cutting discs in opposite directions until
they lock.
Undo the clamping screw by turning it anti-clock-
wise using the wrench supplied (B3).
Push back the pivot safety hood.
Raise the top saw blade.
Raise the bottom saw blade and remove it.
INSTALLING SAW BLADES
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and allow
the saw to cool down before starting any assem-
bly, modification and servicing work. This will
prevent the saw being started by accident.
Place the saw in front of yourself so that the saw
blade shaft points upwards.
Pull back the pivot safety hood.
Place the bottom saw blade with the holes spaced
further apart on the saw blade mounting. The saw
blade must fit perfectly in the mounting (B4/B5).
Now fit the top saw blade with the closer toge-
ther holes on the saw blade mounting. The saw
blade must fit perfectly in the mounting (B6/B7).
Fit the clamping screw again and tighten it by
hand (B8).
Press the spindle locking knob.
Turn the cutting discs in opposite directions until
they lock.
Tighten the clamping screw by turning it clockwi-
se using the wrench supplied.
Carefully turn the saw blades by hand to ensure
that they have been fitted correctly.
SHARPENING
Never use blunt saw blades since this could result
in their teeth being damaged. Replace blunt saw
blades without delay.
Have blunt, undamaged saw blades sharpened by
a special service provider.
LUBRICATION
The saw blades for this saw have teeth for dry
sawing. In normal conditions they saw blades do
not require any lubrication.
In particularly extreme sawing conditions the
lubrication cartridge can be fitted into the lubri-
cation device (7)(B9).
IMPORTANT. The lubrication device must always
be used for cutting aluminium, copper, cast iron
and stainless steel.
Pull the mains plug out of the socket and allow
the saw to cool down before starting any assem-
bly, modification and servicing work. This will
prevent the saw being started by accident.
