In these operating instructions we have marked the places
that have to do with your safety with this sign: m
m General Safety Rules
WARNING! When using electric tools basic safety precau-
tions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock and personal injury.
• Keep work area clear. Cluttered areas and benches
invite injuries.
• Consider work area environment. Do not expose tools to
rain. Do not use tools in damp or wet locations. Keep
work area well lit. Do not use tools in the presence of
flammable liquids or gases.
• Guard against electric shock. Avoid body contact with
earthed or grounded surfaces.
• Keep other people away. Do not let others, especially
children, get involved in the work touch the tool or
the extension lead and keep them away from the work
area.
• Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should be
stored in a dry locked-up place, out of reach of chil-
dren.
• Do not force the tool. It will do the job better and safer
at the rate for which it was intended.
• Use the right tool. Do not force small tools to do the
job of a heavy duty tool. Do not use tools for purposes
not intended; for example do not use circular saws to
cut tree limbs or logs.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery
they can be caught in moving parts. Non-skid footwear
is recommended when working outdoors. Wear protec-
tive hair covering to contain long hair.
• Use protective equipment. Use safety glasses. Use
face or dust mask if cutting operations create dust.
• Connect dust extraction equipment. If devices are pro-
vided for the connection of dust extraction and col-
lecting equipment, ensure these are connected and
properly used.
• Do not abuse the cable. Never pull the power cable
to disconnect it from the socket. Keep the cable away
from heat, oil and sharp edge.
• Secure work. Where possible use clamps or a vice to
hold the work. It’s safer than using your hand.
• Don’t over reach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all time.
• Maintain tools with care. Keep cutting tools sharp and
clean for better and safer performance. Follow instruc-
tions for lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect
power cables periodically and if damaged have them re-
placed by an authorised service facility. Inspect exten-
sion cables periodically and replace if damaged. Keep
handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
• Disconnect tools. When not in use, before servicing
and when changing accessories such as blades, bits,
cutters, disconnect tools from the power supply.

ATTENTION! Il faut toujours prendre des précautions fonda-
mentales pour éviter les risques d’incendie, d’électrocution
et de blessure quand on utilise un outil électrique.
• Zones de travail bien ordonnées. Il est facile de se
blesser dans le désordre.
• Conditions ambiantes. Ne pas exposer d’outil à la
pluie. Ne pas utiliser d’outil dans un milieu humi-
de. Bien éclairer les zones de travail. Ne pas utiliser
d’outil près de liquides ou de gaz inflammables.
• Danger d’électrocution. Eviter tout contact avec une
surface mise à la terre ou à la masse.
• Tenir les autres personnes à l’écart. Ne pas laisser
d’autres personnes, notamment des enfants, participer
aux travaux ou toucher l’outil ou la rallonge électrique.
Les tenir à l’écart de la zone de travail.
• Ranger les outils dont on ne se sert pas. Quand on
ne s’en sert pas, il faut ranger les outils au sec, dans
un endroit qui ferme à clé, hors de la portée des en-
fants.
• Ne pas forcer l’outil. L’outil fonctionne mieux et plus
en sécurité au régime auquel il est censé marcher.
• Utiliser l’outil qui convient. Ne pas forcer de petit outil
à faire le travail d’un plus gros. Ne pas utiliser d’outil
à des fins auxquelles il n’est pas destiné : par exem-
ple, ne pas utiliser de scie circulaire pour couper une
branche ou un rondin.
• Porter la tenue voulue. Ne pas porter de vêtements am-
ples ni de bijoux qui peuvent se prendre dans les piè-
ces mobiles. Il est recommandé de porter des chaus-
sures antidérapantes quand on travaille à l’extérieur.
Les personnes aux cheveux longs doivent se couvrir
la tête.
• Utiliser un équipement de protection. Utiliser des lu-
nettes de protection. Si la coupe fait de la poussière,
porter un couvre-face ou un masque anti-poussières.
• Brancher l’équipement de dépoussiérage. S’il est pos-
sible de brancher un dispositif d’extraction et de col-
lecte des poussières, veiller à le faire et à s’en servir
comme il convient.
• Traiter le câble avec soin. Ne jamais tirer sur le câble
pour l’enlever de la prise. Tenir le câble à l’écart de la
chaleur, de l’huile et de toute arête coupante.
• Immobiliser les pièces. Dans la mesure du possible,
utiliser des serre-joints ou un étau pour retenir la pièce
sur laquelle on travaille. C’est moins dangereux que de
la retenir à la main.
• Ne pas se mettre en porte-à-faux. Il faut toujours être
bien d’aplomb et en position d’équilibre.
