OPERATION
APPLICATIONS
You may use this tool for the following purposes:
Note: Most of these applications require different types
of bits. Be sure to use the right bit for your tool.
Cutting electrical outlet openings in drywall or
wood paneling. It is recommended to use a 3.2 mm
bit for cutting wood paneling.
Creating decorative wood accents
Cutting tile
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the battery pack, remove
the battery pack from the charger immediately if
no LED comes on. Return the battery pack and
charger to your nearest service centre for
checking or replacing. Also, if you are removing
the battery pack from the charger and no LEDs
are on, return both the battery pack and the
charger to your nearest service centre. Do not
insert another battery pack into the charger.
Adamaged charger may damage a battery pack.
Do not abuse power tools. Abusive practices can damage
tool as well as workpiece.
WARNING
Do not attempt to modify this tool or create
accessories not recommended for use with
this tool. Any such alteration or modification is
misuse and could result in a hazardous condition
leading to possible serious personal injury.
TO INSTALL BATTERY PACK (NOT INCLUDED)
(Fig. 5)
Place battery pack on the spiral saw.
Align raised rib on battery pack with groove in saw’s
battery port.
Make sure the latches on each side of the battery
pack snap in place and that battery pack is secured
on the tool before beginning operation.
CAUTION
When placing battery pack in the tool, be sure
raised rib on battery pack aligns with the bottom
of the drill and latches into place properly.
Improper installation of the battery pack can
cause damage to internal components.
TO REMOVE BATTERYPACK (NOT INCLUDED)
(Fig. 5)
Locate latches on side of battery pack and depress
both sides to release battery pack from the spiral saw.
Remove battery pack from the spiral saw.
STARTING/STOPPING SPIRALSAW (Fig. 6)
Follow these directions when starting and stopping the
spiral saw.
To start: Depress switch to the On ( I ) position.
To stop:Depress switch to the Off ( O ) position.
CAUTION
We suggest that you practice with your spiral
saw before installing a bit and making cuts.
OPERATING THE SPIRAL SAW (Fig. 7)
Hold spiral saw firmly with both hands.
Start spiral saw.
Tilt spiral saw at a 45° angle.
Plunge bit into material using guide ring as a pivot.
Raise spiral saw slowly to a 90° angle.
Begin cutting.
DANGER
Do not cut electrical outlet openings with live
electrical wires. Do not cut walls that may have
live electrical wiring behind them. Shut off
breakers or remove fuses to disconnect the
circuit. Always hold the tool by its motor housing.
USING CIRCLE CUTTER (Fig. 8)
Assemble circle cutter if necessary. Refer to
“Assembling Circle Cutter” in this manual.
Attach circle cutter to spiral saw if necessary. Refer to
“Attaching Circle Cutter” in this manual.
Adjust depth of cut if necessary. Refer to “Adjusting
Depth Of Cut” in this manual.
Loosen pivot point knob.
Move pivot point knob to desired diameter dimension.
Tighten pivot point knob.
Start spiral saw.
Cut a pilot hole in the centre of the intended circle.
Line up pivot point knob with the lead hole.
Begin cut, applying moderate, steady pressure.
Hold the spiral saw firmly with one hand and the
handle with the other.
