ROTWILD USER MANUAL
GETTING READY
ROTWILD bikes come almost completely
assembled ready-to-ride bikes or as a
frameset. ROTWILD mountain bikes may
only be used in off-road situations and
not in general public traffic. Please obser-
ve your local traffic regulations.
Before your first ride with so called
„click pedals“ you have to familiarise
yourself with the clip-in and clip-out ac-
tion. Always read the instruction manual
first.
Pedals
To mount your pedals, you will need an
appropriate open-end wrench or allen
key.
Before you screw the pedals into the
crank arm, apply a little assembly
grease to the threads and make sure
that you insert the washers between the
pedal and the crank if supplied.
When screwing the pedals into the
crank, please note that the right pedal
side has a right-handed thread (tighten
in a clockwise direction) while the left
side has a left-handed thread (tighten
in an anti-clockwise direction).
Handlebars and stem positioning.
With the help of the stem-handlebars de-
vice it is possible to adjust the ROTWILD
bike to the desired seating position. In
addition to the height of the handlebars
it is possible to position the handlebars
inclination.
Home position
Slightly release the screws to be found
on the stem with the help of a fitting
allen key/torx wrench, so the handlebar
can turn.
Swing the handlebars forwards out of
the transport position into the home
position. The centring mark to be found
on the handlebars should be positioned
exactly between the two stem clamps.
Slightly pull the stem clamps in order
to secure the handlebars position.
Now open the rear two stem clamp
screws with the help of a fitting allen
key/torx wrench in order to position
the handlebars stem device. Align the
handlebars at a right angle to the front
wheel.
Gradually tighten both the stem clamp
screws alternately – clamping torque
8 Nm.
Control: Put the front wheel between
your legs. The fixation is correct when
you can no longer twist the handlebar.
Now align the handlebars (incline).
The Road Bike handlebars should be
positioned in a way that the lower handle
bar is parallel to the road in the home
position.
It is recommended to tighten the stem
clamp screws one after the other or
