►► Suspension fork
The front fork is one of the most heavily stressed parts of
your bike. All ROTWILD models are prepared for the
installation of a suspension fork. This must be adjusted to
allow for rider weight and intended use in order to function
correctly. Also in the case of the suspension fork, the
negative travel should be set to 15-20% of the maximum
travel. Please let your dealer perform all theses adjustments.
This manual also contains a manufacturers instruction
supplement. Please read this carefully before your first ride,
or find the information online.
Steering
The steering gear of a bike consists of
handlebars, stem and bearings (headset).
Various forms of handlebar are provided for
ROTWILD MTBs. The aim is to ensure the
best ergonomic configuration, to let you ride
safely, comfortably and without tiring. A
handlebar height adjustment may be nec-
essary on your MTB/Racing bike. For bikes
with Aheadset Bearing systems, the bearings can also be adjusted with the help of
the stem. If the stem is altered, the bearing has to be adjusted too. A height
adjustment of the stem is only possible by changing the spacers or turning the
stem. If you own a bike fitted with a Syntace VRO-System, you have the option of
adjusting the effective stem length. To do this, the two handlebar fixing screws must
be released. It is now possible to adjust the position of the handlebars as required.
After adjustment, please make sure that the screws are replaced with the correct
torque.
Adjusting handlebar height for an Aheadset system:
Remove the bearing tensioning screw at the top of the steering tube, and
remove the cover.
Release the lateral stem screws. Pull the stem out of the fork.
You can now remove the spacers.
Replace the removed spacers on the steering tube, above the stem.
If you wish to reverse the stem, the fixing screws for the handlebars must also
be released. The handlebars must be re-installed after reversing the stem.
Re-adjust the bearing and tighten the stem after adjustment.
