ROTWILD 2006/2007 Ä nderungen vorbehalten / Subject to change / 57
Note:
As soon as you remove your wheels, e.g. for
transportation, insert the enclosed transport
protectors between the brake linings.
Racing bike brakes
Wear on the rubber brake pads may lead to mis-
alignment of the pads on your rims. To avoid risks, it
is necessary that you regularly check the alignment
of the brake shoes to the rims. There must always
be a safety distance of 1 2mm to the bottom edge
of the rim.
The top edge, (close to the tyre) requires a safety distance of 1mm. Check for wear
and correct alignment of the brake shoes, and replace the blocks in good time, to
ensure safe braking at all times.
Axle systems and wheels
►►Quick releases and the TAS-System by ADP Engineering.
Whenever you remove or install a wheel, please remember to lock the quick releases
in such a way that the wheel is clamped firmly and safely between the dropouts.
If the wheels are equipped with TAS, tighten the axles with a torque of 10 Nm.
►►Wheels
Wheels must run round. A wheel with lateral or defor-
mation may become a safety risk and reduce the
expected braking efficiency of your bike. In addition,
an unbalanced wheel particularly at high speeds
can cause an unstable ride and may be potentially
dangerous. Wheels should also always have a uni-
formly high spoke tension. Please check this regularly.
Important: If your MTB/Racing bike has rim brakes, you may
experience rim wear (abrasion) of the rim flanks. In extreme
cases, the rim may wear through. Please check your rims for
possible wear before every ride. If in doubt, consult your
dealer.
