Operating the DJ-808
Copying a pattern
1. While the pattern is stopped, hold down the [PATTERN] button
and press one of the TR-S pads [1]–[16] to select the copy-
source pattern.
The TR-S pads other than the one you pressed are blinking orange.
* If you decide to cancel the operation, press the [PATTERN] button or
[TR-REC] button.
2. Press one of the blinking TR-S pads [1]–[16] to select the copy-
destination pattern.
Clearing a pattern
1. Press the [PATTERN] button to make it light.
2. Hold down the [CLEAR] button and press the TR-S pad for the
pattern that you want to clear.
The pattern that had been saved in the TR-S pad you pressed is cleared.
Clearing an instrument
You can clear just a specied instrument from a pattern.
1. Hold down the [CLEAR] button and press the button for
the instrument that you want to clear (one of the [BD]–[OH]
buttons).
Changing Instruments
Changing the entire kit of instrument sounds
You can switch all of the [BD]–[OH] instruments between the sounds of
the TR-909, TR-808, TR-707, or TR-606.
1. Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press one of the [BD]–[OH]
buttons.
The display shows the selected kit.

Assigns the instruments of the TR-808.

Specifying eects for a kit
Dedicated eects of the TR-S can be specied for each kit.
MEMO
When you specify an eect, it is automatically saved within the settings
of the currently selected kit.
1. Press the [ACC] button to make it light.
2. Use the following knobs to specify the eects.

[ATTACK] knob COMPRESSOR
Makes the overall volume more consistent.

Adjusts the volume of the instrument selected by the [BD] / [SD] /
[CH] / [OH] buttons.

Adjusts the strength of the attack if the [BD] button is selected, or
adjusts the sound of the snare rattle if the [SD] button is selected.
