‘Speed 1’ and ‘Speed 2’. This facility includes the option of
setting different delay times for each direction of switching
(‘there’ and ‘back’). Simply mark the appropriate field, then
use the arrow buttons to set the desired value. The range is 0
to 27 increments, with the maximum figure corresponding to a
delay of nine seconds. The default is no switch-over delay (0
increments).
The screen shot shows a sensible programming set-up for this
option.
The screen shot below shows typical programmed settings for
the ‘Motor off’ option.
Ensure that the ‘Motor off’ settings coincide with the Fail-Safe
settings for the motor control system.
If the motor switch is in the ‘On’ position when you switch the
transmitter on, a visual and audible warning signal is triggered
in the interests of safety. Operate the motor switch to reset
(switch off) the alarm.

18.17 MOTOR SETTINGS
This menu is used for entering the settings for switching an
electric motor on and off, and is of particular inter
est for con-
trolling the electric motor in a hot-line model using a simple
switch. It is possible to program two different motor speeds for
slow and fast flight (Speed 1 / Speed 2). In this case you will
need to assign a three-position switch to the function.
It is important to check that the propeller fitted to the motor is
capable of absorbing the loads, especially for the ‘Speed 2’
setting. A ‘Once mode’ is provided; when this option is selec-
ted, the settings can only be changed within the menu.
This menu is only available if you have selected an electric-
powered model (Motor glider) as model type in the Base menu.
Once you have done that, mark the ‘Motor’ option in the Model
menu. The screen now looks like this:
The first step is to activate this mixer function in the Status line.
Mark the field, and the same field then displays ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’
instead of ‘INA’ (inactive), according to the position of the
switch.
The effects and method of setting the ‘Glob’ or ‘Sepa’ mode
have already been described; the function is programmed using
the appropriate switch field.
A switch can be defined to trigger the mixer, using the standard
procedure: mark the appropriate field and define the desired
switch and its direction of operation in the switch select menu
which then appears. The default setting is ‘NONE’, which
means that the mixer is permanently switched on.
Move to the ‘Motor off’ line, where you can define the switch
position at which the motor is to be switched off. Mark the field
and move the switch to the ‘OFF’ position, then confirm the
security query with ‘Yes’. The setting is now stored, and is dis-
played in the field as a percentage value.
The speed settings are entered In a separate frame; this sub-
menu must again be activated in the Status line initially. You can
then decide whether to activate ‘Once mode’. The setting is
selected using exactly the same procedure as for activating a
mixer.
The next step is to define the speed limits, i.e. the ranges for the
two motor speeds. Mark the appropriate field, and use the
arrow buttons to set the values you require. The adjustment
range is -100% to +100%; the default setting is 0%. The setting
is displayed in graphic bar form on the screen, and as a per-
centage value in the field.
The last task is to define the transition rate for switching bet-
ween the speed settings; this is carried out separately for
