Browning Control
The browning control enables adjustment of toasting time, this is adjustable from 1 to 6:
1 - 2: for light toasting & bun warming
3 - 4: for medium toasting
5 - 6: for dark toast
Note: Use a low setting for thin dry slices. If toasting more than one slice, be sure to use
slices with an even thickness, to achieve even toasting.
CANCEL Function
Press the CANCEL button (C) if bread starts to smoke.
The CANCEL button (C) can be pressed at any time during toasting.
Toasting Tips
The amount of moisture can vary in different types of bread - this can result in different
toasting settings.
Slightly dry bread requires a lower setting (1-2).
Fresh or wholewheat bread requires a medium to high setting (4-5).
Uneven bread requires a high setting (5) .
Thick bread slices, crumpets, bagels and muffins sometimes require toasting twice
before the desired results are achieved.
Remove any loose grain, seeds or raisins before toasting fruit breads or wholegrain
slices. This helps prevent a buildup of oversize crumbs in the toaster.
A low setting (1-2) should be used when toasting single slices of bread.
Caution
Bread should fit easily into the toaster - never force thickly sliced bread into the toasting slot
Do not toast buttered bread.
Using the high lift release
If small bread is toasted, this may be removed more easily by lifting the bread carriage lever.
Using the Crumb tray
Crumbs will accumulate in the crumb tray and could catch fire if not emptied periodically. When
the toaster has cooled down completely, tap the sides of the case lightly to dislodge any crumbs
lodged in the toasting chamber and pull out the crumb tray. Empty the tray and replace it.
Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray fitted.
Additional points
In order to achieve uniform browning, we recommend you wait a minimum of 30 seconds
between each toasting, so that the control can automatically be reset.
If toasting one slice only, you may need to adjust the browning control to a slightly lower setting.
Note: you will also notice a slight variation in toast color on one side of a single slice.
Stale bread toasts more rapidly than fresh bread. The browning control should be set at
a lower setting than usual.
All sorts of bread can be used as well as teacakes, small rolls etc., Slices should not
however be so thick as to cause burning or jamming within the bread slot.
When toasting 2 slices it is recommended they are of equal size and freshness.
Allow the toaster to cool fully before putting away.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Note: Remove plug from mains supply and allow toaster to cool completely before
cleaning.
Only clean the outer surfaces of the toaster with a soft, barely damp cloth.
Do not allow crumbs to build up inside the toaster.
Crumbs can be removed by pulling out the crumb tray, located at the end of the toaster,
and clearing any build up with a damp cloth.
Internal parts can be easily damaged. Do not touch the internal parts of the toaster with any
implement as this is very dangerous and could cause an electrical hazard.
Servicing
If you drop or damage your toaster, do not use it until it has been examined by an
