HDMI steht für „High Definition Multi-
media Interface“ und ist für die volldigi-
tale Übertragung von Audio und Video
Daten entwickelt worden. Der neuste
Standard von HDMI erlaubt auch eine
Datenübertragung.
HD+
HD+ ist ein kostenpflichtiger Verschlüs-
selungsdienst von hochauflösendem
Filmmaterial, welches im TV ausgestrahlt
wird. Dieser Standard ist aktuell auf
Deutschland beschränkt.
LAN
Ein lokales Computer Netzwerk wird als
LAN (Local Area Network) bezeichnet.
LNB
Ein Low Noise Block Converter wird in
Verbindung mit einer Satelliten Schüssel
eingesetzt. Dieser rauscharme Signal-
umsetzer wandelt im Brennpunkt einer
Satelliten Schüssel die Signale in eine
für Coaxial-Kabel geeignete Frequenz
um.
NAS
NAS ist die Abkürzung für „Network
Attached Atorage“ und bedeutet, dass
es sich um Speicher (in der Regel Fest-
platten) handelt, auf welche über das
Netzwerk zugegriffen werden kann.
OSD
OSD steht für “On Screen Display” und
bedeutet, dass in der Regel eine Bedien-
oberfläche auf dem Bildschirm darges-
tellt wird.
Smartcard
Als Smartcards werden in der Regel
Chip Karten bezeichnet, die im Zusam-
menhang mit Bezahlfernsehen dazu
dienen, den rechtmäßigen Empfang von
verschlüsselten Sendern zu bestätigen.
URL
Diese Abkürzung steht für Uniform Re-
source Locator. URLs identifizieren und
lokalisieren eine Ressource über die zu
verwendende Zugriffsmethode der Res-
source in Computernetzwerken.
USB
Über den universellen seriellen Bus
können verschiedene Komponenten und
Geräte mit einem Computer kommunizie-
ren und Daten austauschen.
WLAN
Wird in einem LAN kabellos übertragen,
spricht man von einem WLAN Netzwerk
(Wireless Local Area Network). In eini-
gen Ländern wird hierfür auch die Be-
zeichnung Wi-Fi verwendet.
