III. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

To remove scale and other debris from steam holes on the soleplate carry out self-
cleaning procedure at least once or twice a month. The harder the water the more
frequently the iron should be self-cleaned.
1. Unplug the iron from electrical outlet and let cool down thoroughly.
2. Turn steam output control dial into position.
3. -
ture control dial into position.
4. Wait for the soleplate to reach selected temperature (heating indicator will go
out). Unplug the iron.
5. Position the iron horizontally above the sink. Turn the steam output control dial
all the way to the right and hold in position, swinging the iron lightly back
and forth. Steam and hot water releasing from soleplate will remove scale and
other debris.
6. By the end of self-cleaning procedure open and empty the water tank. Close the cap.
7. Wait for soleplate to cool down thoroughly and wipe with damp cloth. Repeat the
procedure if necessary.
NOTE! Set steam output control dial into position only for self-cleaning procedure.

Before cleaning the soleplate ensure that iron is unplugged and cooled down thor-
oughly. Cool soleplate can be wiped with damp cloth or sponge. Do not use abrasive
cleaners, aggressive chemicals, and abrasive or metal sponges.

The appliance must be stored in a dry location away from direct sunlight or heating
appliances. Store iron in the vertical position to avoid damage to the soleplate. To keep
the soleplate in good condition do not allow it to come into contact with metal and
other hard or sharp objects.
Always store the iron empty to prevent lime scale build-up that may stain fabric during
ironing.
