Cooking tips
General information
Use the grille instead of the grill plate when you prefer drier and
slightly crispier meat.
Use the griddle side of the grill plate to obtain the characteristic
dark grilling stripes.
Grilling
Grilling is cooking meat, fish and other food on a grill plate.
Both sides of the grill plate can be used; one side has a smooth
surface, and the other side a griddle surface.
Grilling can readily be combined with racletting.
Please note: only start grilling once the grill plate has
heated up.
Racletting
This traditional Swiss cooking method is based on dishes
prepared with melted cheese and potatoes.
The grill plates are used to keep the potatoes warm and to grill
meat, fish and other food.
The pans are placed under the heating element – and everyone
can prepare individual portions with melted cheese and the
ingredients of their choice.
Racletting can readily be combined with grilling.
Please note: only start racletting once the grill plate has
heated up.
(Basic recipe)
For 4 people
8 potatoes of about equal size
1 jar of cocktail onions
1 jar of gherkins
200 grams of dried meat (Bündnerfleisch)
200 grams of smoked raw ham
Pepper, preferably fresh from a pepper mill
600 grams of raclette cheese
Do NOT peel the potatoes; scrub them thoroughly and cook
them.
Slice the potatoes and put them on the grill plate to keep them
warm. Place a number of potato slices in a pan and cover with a
few slices of cheese. Sprinkle pepper on the cheese to taste
and place the pan on the tray under the Let’s Cook Multi Chef.
Allow the cheese to melt.
Add cocktail onions, gherkins and meat to prepare a delicious
meal.
Pan-frying
Everyone prepares their own food in a pan placed on the grille
or on the grill plate above the heating element whilst sitting
around the same table; that’s pan-frying!
The best pan-frying results are obtained when the temperature-
control dial is turned to the maximum setting. You can start pan-
frying once the grill plate has heated up. The orange light will
remain lit to indicate that the appliance is kept at the correct
temperature.
Barbecuing
You can also barbecue meat, fish, skewers and other food
directly on the grille – and all without annoying smoke. This
Let’s Cook Multi Chef can be used for indoor barbecuing.
1 Fill the tray with 0.5 l of water.
2 The orange light will remain lit to indicate that the appliance
is kept at the correct temperature.
Switching off and storing the appliance
1 Remove the plug from the wall socket.
2 Allow the appliance to cool down completely.
3 Clean the appliance and all the accessories (see ‘Cleaning
and maintenance’) and dry them thoroughly.
4 Wind the power cord around the lugs on the base of the
appliance. See Figure 1.
