DURING USE
• Make sure the appliance is placed on a sturdy table or other stable surface.
• Do not place it on a (hot) stove or hob.
• Place the plug into the socket and allow the hotplate to warm up for °” 10 minutes. You can use this
time to prepare the ingredients.
• While the hotplate is heating up, there may be a slight odour and some smoke emitted. This will disap-
pear after a few minutes.
• Small pieces of meat, fish etc. will be cooked through faster than large pieces.
• Use a wooden or plastic spatula in the pans. Do not use metal implements as these could damage the
non-stick coating.
SAFETY TIPS
• This appliance is only intended for household use.
• Only plug the appliance into an earthed outlet.
Use an earthed extension lead with a large enough diameter (min. 3x1 mm2) and completely unroll the
extension lead (otherwise it will become too hot). Make sure that the extension cord does not touch the
appliance and that it is safely positioned on the ground or a table so that people cannot trip over it.
• If the hotplate or cord are damaged, we advise you not to use the appliance and to take it to the retailer
for repair. Damaged cords can only be replaced by our service department.
• Never leave the appliance unattended when children are present. The appliance gets very hot. Be careful
for yourself as well; do not touch the hotplate while the appliance is switched on.
• After you switch on the appliance, the bottom will become hot. We recommend that you place heat-
resistant (nonflammable) protection between the appliance and the table surface, especially if the table-
top is sensitive to heat. Avoid plastic.
• Do not place the appliance on a damp or hot surface.
• Do not place the appliance on or near flammable objects such as curtains, kitchen paper, etc.
• Remove the plug from the outlet when you are not using the appliance, when you are cleaning it, or if
the appliance stops working while you are using it.
• Allow the appliance to cool off for at least one hour before you clean, move or put it away for storage.
CLEANING
SWITCH OFF THE APPLIANCE AND REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE OUTLET.
Allow all parts to cool off before you clean the appliance.
Clean the appliance after each use. This prevents leftover food from becoming encrusted in the appliance.
After use, let the appliance cool off for at least one hour.
• Never throw cold water on the hotplate, when hot. This may damage the appliance and can cause spat-
tering of hot water.
• Clean the hotplate using kitchen paper. Soak stubborn leftovers with cooking oil first and leave to dissol-
ve for 5 minutes. The outside of the base can be wiped down with a damp cloth.
• Do not use detergents or abrasives.
• Do not scratch with sharp objects; this can damage the smooth surface.
• Do not immerse the hotplate in water.
• If you have fried fish in the pan, we recommend that you rub it lightly with some vinegar or lemon juice.
• You can clean the pans as you would normally with the washing-up or in the dishwasher. NEVER put
the transparent lid in the dishwasher as it will lose its shine.
