III. BATTERIES AND CHARGING
NOTE: If you encounter a damaged or cracked battery, immediately enclose it in a plastic bag and contact your
local waste disposal agency or authorized Provider for instructions on disposal and battery recycling which is
our recommended course of action.
To change batteries in Battery Pack Style D (see gure 9):
1. Remove the seat and rear shroud. See VI “Disassembly and Assembly.”
2. Disconnect the battery harnesses and tie-down strap then remove the battery pack from the Travel Scooter.
See gure 20.

4. Disconnect the black (-) and red (+) battery cables from the battery terminals of the rst battery.
5. Remove the old battery.
6. Place the new battery into the battery pack.
7. Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal of the rst battery.
8. Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminal of rst battery.
9. Repeat steps 4 through 8 for the other battery.
10. Completely zip the battery pack closed.
11. Reinstall the battery pack then connect the battery harnesses and battery tie-down strap.
12. Reinstall the rear shroud and seat.
To change batteries in Battery Pack Style E (see gure 10):

7. Remove the batteries.
8. Put the new batteries back into the battery box (battery terminals up and facing toward the center of the travel
scooter).
9. Fasten the hook and loop straps around both batteries.
10. Reconnect the two (2) battery cables to the battery terminals. Make sure the red cable is connected to the
positive (+) terminal and the black cable is connected to the negative (-) terminal.
11. Replace the lid and carefully ip the battery box over so the handle is down.
12. Replace and tighten all the screws that hold the battery box together.
