Note: This machine is equipped with an electromagnetic switch to prevent it
from being unexpectedly switched on when power source recovered.
8.2 Changing direction of rotation
Caution! Switch of the shredder before changing direction of rotation.
▪ Position (IN – normal RUN)
▪ For forward action push the forward/reverse switch on the lower IN position (see
drawing). The cutting drum pulls the material in and shreds it.
▪ Position (OUT – Reverse RUN)
▪ For reverse action push the forward/reverse switch on the upper OUT position (see
drawing). The cutting blades run in the opposite direction and release the clogged
material. When you change the direction to reverse, keep pushing the green button of the
power switch to rotate the blades. The shredder stops automatically when the power
switch is released.
Tips
▪ Large objects or woody pieces will be re moved after several operations in both cutting
and releasing directions.
▪ Use a pusher or clearing hook to remove blocked objects from the feeding funnel and
ejection slot
DANGER! Do never try to loosen blocked objects with your hands! Do never
touch the feeding hopper or the discharge chute when the machine is
plugged in!
Longer material standing out from the shredder could lash out when being
drawn in by the cutting blade. Please keep at safe distance!
Don’t push hardware into the shredder
8.3 Overload protection
The motor is equipped with an overload protection. When overloaded, the machine acts as
follows:
▪ The blade runs reverse for two or three seconds to try to push the shredded material back
out.
▪ The blade runs forward again.
▪ If the material is still clogged after this attempt for three times, the machine stops.
When it happens perform the following steps:
▪ Turn off the machine.
▪ Wait until the blades stop completely.
▪ Remove the clogged material.
▪ Turn the shredder on again after about 5 minutes and feed easier material.
▪ If you cannot turn on the machine after this waiting time, refer to “Trouble shooting”.
