Connect the standard 9V battery with the correct polarity (note + and –) to the battery clip and place
this battery in the battery compartment.
Then put the cover back on and tighten the previously loosened screw.
7. First use
Never exceed the maximum permissible input values.
Before measuring, remove the cover of the test lead and switch on the multimeter by pressing the on/off
button [8]. The multimeter has an auto power OFF function which works as follows:
If the multimeter is not used for 15 minutes, it switches to sleep mode.
To activate the multimeter from sleep mode, press the HOLD button [2] once or press the on/off
button [8] twice to reboot the device.
To deactivate the auto power OFF function, proceed as follows: keep the HOLD button [2]
pressed when switching on the multimeter. The symbol is not indicated on the display [1].
The next time the multimeter is switched on, the auto power OFF function is active again and
the symbol is visible on the display [1].
However, you can also switch off the multimeter directly with the on/off button [8].
You obtain a more accurate measurement result if you use the smallest possible measuring range.
7.1. Overflow indicator
The multimeter has an overflow indicator. If a measured value exceeds the range limit of the selected
measuring range, "0L" is indicated on the display [1]. In this case, switch to a higher measuring range
immediately if possible, or remove the test probes [6] from the test object.
7.2. DC voltage measurement
Connect the black test lead to the COM jack [4] and the red test lead to the Ω V mA jack [5].
Set the range selector switch [3] to the desired range in the DC voltage measuring range V .
