FTP
FTP (File Transfer Protocol), ist ein Standard Internet Protokoll, welches den
einfachsten Weg darstellt, um Daten über das Internet zur Verfügung zu stellen, bzw.
auszutauschen. FTP wird häufig zum Down- oder Uploaden von verschiedenen
Dateiformaten (.txt, .exe, .pdf, .doc, .mp3, .zip etc.) und zum Austausch über das
Internet verwendet. Hierbei ist der ein Computer immer der FTP-Server und der
andere der FTP-client.
Gateway
Ein Gateway ist ein Netzwerkpunkt der den Zugang zu einem anderen Netzwerk
ermöglicht. In professionellen Netzwerken dient ein Server gleichzeitig als Gateway-,
Proxy- und Firewallserver, der den Zugriff auf sein Netzwerk überwacht.
IP-Adressen
Eine IP-Adresse ist eine 32-Bit-Information welche den Sender oder Empfänger
eines Datenpaketes über das Internet identifiziert. Eine IP-Adresse besteht aus 2
Teilen. Ein Teil identifiziert das Netzwerk, aus dem ein Datenpaket stammt, der
andere Teil bestimmt das Gerät (z.B. einen PC) innerhalb des Netzwerks.
Internet Protokoll
Das Internetprotokoll (IP) ist die Methode bzw. das Protokoll welche zum Übertragen
von Daten von einem zum anderen PC über das Internet benötigt wird. Wenn Sie
Daten senden oder empfangen (z.B. eine eMail), werden diese in viele kleine Teile
zerlegt, die man auch Pakete nennt. Jedes dieser Pakete enthält die
Absenderadresse und die Empfängeradresse. Das IP Protokoll übermittelt diese.
IMAP
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) ist ein Standard Protokoll um E-Mails von
einem lokalen Server zu erhalten. IMAP benötigt eine kontinuierliche Verbindung
zum Server während Sie mit der E-Mail arbeiten. IMAP ermöglicht die Erstellung von
Ordnern und einer besseren Organisation auf dem Herkunftsserver. IMAP ist also im
Grunde vergleichbar mit einem externen File Server. IMAP wird daher häufig von
Mobilen Geräten verwendet, da die Mails auf dem Server verbleiben, und kaum
Speicherplatz auf dem Gerät benötigen.
