For maximum steam: set the temperature
dial (J) to 3 or MAX and the steam control
(G) to 3 or 4.
- Follow the steps as described in the previous
sections.
- Slide the steam control (G) to the required
position (fig. 12).
- Keep the steam activator (I) pressed-in while
you are steam-ironing (fig. 13).
• During ironing pilot light (H) and (C) will come
on from time to time. When this happens, the
soleplate or the steam tank are being heated
up to the required temperature again.
Meanwhile, you can continue ironing.
• When you have not used the steaming facility
for some time, the steam still present in the
supply hose will condense into water. The
next time you steam-iron, this may cause
some spluttering in the appliance and a few
droplets of water may escape from the
soleplate.
Tip: Hold the iron over an old cloth or over
the floor and press the steam activator (I)
until the steam production has normalised,
before you start steam-ironing.
Turbo steam 9
• A powerful steam output coming from a
limited number of holes in the soleplate will
help remove stubborn wrinkles over a large
area.
- Always set the temperature dial (J) to the
steam range (from 2 to MAX), otherwise the
soleplate will not be hot enough and water
may escape from it.
- Press the Turbo steam button 9 (F) and the
steam activator (I) (fig. 14).
Jet-of-steam 0
• To dampen stubborn wrinkles.
• It is not necessary to set the temperature dial
(J) to the steam range if you want to use the
Jet-of-steam facility.
- Press button 0 (E) and steam activator (I)
(fig. 15).
Steaming in a vertical position
Hanging curtains and clothing (jackets, suits,
coats) can be steam-ironed by holding the iron in
a vertical position (fig. 16). You can also use the
Turbo steam and Jet-of-steam facilities when you
are ironing in a vertical position.
Dry-ironing
• For ironing without steam, set the steam
control (G) to position 1 and do not press the
steam activator (I).
When you have finished ironing
- Set On/Off switch (B) to position "Off" to
switch the appliance off (fig. 17).
- Remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
- Place the iron on the stand (O) and let it cool
down.
Cleaning
- Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down
before you start cleaning it.
- The appliance can be cleaned with a damp
cloth.
- Rinse the water tank with clean water.
- Scale and other deposits can be wiped off the
soleplate with a damp cloth.
Storage
- Put the supply hose and mains cord in the
storage compartment (fig. 18, 19).
- The handgrips on either side of the steam
tank allow you to carry it easily (fig. 20).
• Note: allow the appliance to cool down
sufficiently before you move or store it.
