Differenza fra la misurazione

effettuata sul braccio e quella al polso.

I valori della pressione misurata al polso possono

risultare diversi da quelli rilevati al braccio. Questo

è dovuto alla differenza di diametro dei vasi

sanguigni nelle due parti del corpo. In un individuo

adulto e sano, fra i due modi di misurazione è

possibile riscontrare una differenza di addirittura

10 mmHg.

Nel caso di persone che soffrono di ipertensione,

arteriosclerosi, diabete, disturbi del fegato o altri

disturbi del sistema cardiocircolatorio, la differenza

può risultare addirittura superiore a 10 mmHg. In

questo caso, è da preferire la misurazione sul

braccio.

In caso di dubbio, consultate il medico per

conoscere il sistema migliore nel vostro caso

specifico oppure per fare un confronto fra le due

diverse misurazioni.
