Setting up the interactivity profile
This menu allows you to set up the interactivity
profile for MHP applications.
& From digital mode, press the

Applications menu.

Enable broadcast applications: If you wish to
permanently disable downloaded MHP
applications, select
No.
• Automatic start:
If you want MHP applications
to start automatically, select
Yes.
Some MHP applications will require you to make
live responses to the program that is currently
being broadcast.For these cases, you can connect
an external modem to the tv (see page 22).
This menu allows you to set up the external
modem connection.
Recommended RS232 modems
: Philips only
recommend modems which they have tested,
information on these is available from:
- the internet, address : www.philips.com/support
- the Philips help desk telephone number (see
separate guaranty booklet).
Other types of modem can not be guaranted by Philips

The modem adjustments are then unavailable.

your adjustment and press
u or È to exit.
The first settings are relevant if you already have an
ISP (Internet Service Provider). If not, the MHP
applications can use an ISP provided by the
broadcaster.
•
Telephone number: enter with the digit keys
the number provided by your ISP.
•
User name: enter your ISP user name.
Use the
@
P
#
keys to select the characters.
•
Password: enter your ISP password.
•
Dial type: indicate your telephone system,
tone or pulse.
•
Modem initialisation string: indicate a Hayes
compatible initialization string as mentioned in
the manual of your modem. Use the
@
P
#
keys to input the right codes.
•
Dial-out prefix: if you are connected to a
switchboard, you have to indicate the dial-
out prefix.
•
Code to disable call-waiting: if you want to
disable call-waiting, use the string indicated in
the modem’s manual.
•
Wait for a dial tone ?: depending on the
modem type, you need to select
Yes or No.
•
Idle time (minutes) before disconnect:to
prevent high telephone bills, you can adjust
the maximum idle time. It is advise to start
with 3 minutes.
Warning: your own ISP data are default values. If
the broadcaster provides a different ISP, Philips can
not guarantee what telephone cost will be charged.
