Grinding
Place the workpiece on the tool rest . Guide
the workpiece slowly towards the grinding disc
at the required angle until the workpiece
and the grinding disc come into contact with
each other.
Move the workpiece evenly backwards and
forwards in order to achieve optimal results. This
also ensures that the grinding disc
is worn
down more evenly.
Changing the grinding disc/buffing disc
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Always remove the power plug from the
wall socket before carrying out any work
on the appliance.
WARNING!
The grinding
or buffing disc used may
not be any larger than the prescribed diameter.
Replace the grinding
or buffing disc
when the outer diameter is less than 50mm.
NOTE
Please note that you will require tools which
are not included in delivery for the assembly.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the fixing
bolts
from the side protective covers (see fig.
E). Remove the protective covers on both sides.
If you want to change the buffing disc
, un-
screw the attachment for the flexible shaft
using a 13mm wrench.
Unscrew the union nut
from the shaft
using a 17 mm wrench. Hold the affected grind-
ing or buffing disc firmly in one hand to
create a suitable counterpressure.
Remove the tension disc
and grinding
or buffing disc .
Place the new grinding
or buffing disc
on
the shaft .
Push the tension disc
and screw the union
nut back onto the shaft .
Re-tighten the union nut
. Hold the grinding
or buffing disc
that you have just attached
firmly in one hand to create a suitable counter-
pressure.
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Never use the grinding
or buffing disc
without the protective cover .
CAUTION! PROPERTY DAMAGE!
Do not tighten the union nut
too tightly
since the grinding disc could otherwise
break.
Refit the protective cover
and fix it in place
by tightening the fixing screws .
Fitting the flexible shaft
WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
Always remove the power plug from the
wall socket before carrying out any work
on the appliance.
Screw the flexible shaft
onto the connecting
thread of the appliance. To do this, push the
axle core of the flexible shaft into the square
hole on the connecting thread . Turn the lock-
ing nut anticlockwise to tighten it.
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!
Make sure that the eye shields
are folded
down to the tool rests . This can prevent
unintentional contact with the grinding or
buffing disc .
After use, remove the flexible shaft
from
the appliance. Otherwise, the flexible shaft
could start thrashing about in an uncon-
trolled manner and cause an injury when you
switch the appliance on.
Fitting tools onto the flexible shaft
Push the black collar all the way back onto
the flexible shaft to lock the spindle. Note
that the collet chuck mount is loosened in an
anticlockwise direction. Hold the black collar
in this position.
